Daddy Ron and I are going to make sure that books will be a huge part of Claud's life. Growing up, R and I were (still are) huge bookworms and we want to pass this on to our unija hija. We both considered books as windows to the world. That's why we are slowly filling a space on our bookshelf with books for her. Even now, I would read her stories about Alice In Wonderland, Turtle and the Hare and my favorite, Cinderella. We hope to instill in her the hunger for words that would turn her into a wanderer.

When my friend Amaris told me about the Scholastic Sizzlin' Summer Sale, I grabbed the husband and went to their Warehouse at C. Raymundo Ave., Pasig to pick up a few books that we can add to Claud's book collection. I chose books that has become a huge part of our growing up years.

Check out the new books we got her!

Usborne Fairytale books are my new favorite so I quickly grabbed this copy of Illustrated Stories from Shakespeare. Oh, how her dad and I love Shakespeare! Ron loves the more thrilling stories and how gory this author would get sometime. While I love his romantic comedies. It's never too early for Claud to famialirize herself with his stories! And we hope she grows up loving Shakespeare, too! Got this half the price for about Php345!

Usborne also created individual books of Children's Classics. Can you believe I got these for only Php49? Can't wait to read to her The Little Princess!

I couldn't resist grabbing Kiss, Kiss God Night by Kenn Nesbitt and Rebecca Elliott. It's the cutest book ever!

Dr, Seuss books on sale!! These alone should make you go to and visit Scholastic warehouse! These babies are half off! I want to collect all these books if only for myself. :) Who didn't grow up reading Dr. Seuss?

"Don't cry becase it's over. Smile, because it happened."

Oh, the sweet childhood memories!

And meet the fluffliest book ever! It's a puppet book and quite interactive. Designed to let the child play with the puppet while the parent reads the book. Now, however, I do both roles of giving life to Dilly the Dog and reading the story to Claud, too!

Aside from children's book, there are young adult and other fiction books on sale! There are even Harry Potter books with significant discounts, too! Definitely a steal!

Scholastic Sizzling Summer Sale will started last March 23 until May 24, 2015! It's open 9am to 6pm from Monday through Saturday. Bring your friends and family! It's high time to bring back that love for books and not just our phones and tablets. :)

Scholastic warehouse is near Ortigas Extension, you can even use Waze to easily navigate to the location. :)

My recent shopping trip to Watsons showed a different side of me. :)
After a meeting at a prestige car showroom in EDSA, I decided to go to Megamall. After all, I was already dealing with the horrible traffic... Why not go all out and head on to one of the most visited mall in the city? Thankfully though, getting to Megamall didn't take that long coming from EDSA cor Ortigas. Got there in less than 30 minutes.

And oohhh!! I was able to get into the right lane of EDSA, to the left lane! One of the things I was scared of because of all the buses and the aggressive drivers!

Parking wasn't a pain to look for either.. Though i hate it when the carwash boys help me park when i don't need them and even if I tell them I'm okay they don't budge and you still end up having to give them a tip. Only in the Philippines... Hai.

I first headed to St. Francis Square to look for a nice iPad Case and i did find one but I will not be posting it here because it's an imitation of a really popular casing and i feel bad posting it here. But I was desperate to gt my iPad into a thinner case without breaking the bank. I can't justify buying a Php1 to 3,000 worth of iPad case at this point.

But the same can't be said for makeup and shoes. Look what I came home with last night. :)

\
Got these gorgeous pair for only Php1199!

I was about to splurge on a pair of nude pumps from Nine West. But knowing that there are a lot of shoe store that merits checking out, I didn't buy what I was eyeing for there. So I headed to SM Department Store. That wasn't successful though. I didn't like anything there. At a whim, I went to Celine after seeing their Big Php500 off SALE Sign. I immediately gravitated to these pair. A taupe patent peeptoes that will go well with all of my work clothes and then some.

Yes! I got both! :)

I was at FOREVER 21 before hitting up Watsons but somehow i came out of it empty-handed. Clothes there got so expensive. Gone are the days I would purchase a Php500 cotton dress or a Php450 legging. Everything there now are Pho600 and up. Not within my budget range for clothing.

For makeup though, it's a whole different ball game. I didn't bat an eyelash at getting the two shade of Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist, their brow set mascaras. It's my HG Brow Set.for years, I've been a loyal MAC Girl Boy brow set loyalist but Not anymore. I love MJ's version. :)

And look what I got at St. Francis Square! A new iPhone case.

I was never really interested with hard plastic casings. I like them easy to remove in case I need to charge them with my extra battery pack. But I fell in love with the mint casing and the sakura tree and cute character. I went back a few time at the store just to check it out and i finally gave in. Lol. Isn't pretty. :)
That's it for my latest haul! See in a jiff!

Oh! Who's going to the Krave Minerale Event today? Hope to see you there!

Bonjour, Monsieur Yves Rocher! Welcome to Trinoma!

This quaint boutique, abundant with bath and body care as well cosmetics and skin care that is truly French is now available up north. :) Even swamped with work, I visited this shop weeks ago for a bit of shopping and indulgence. So glad I was took the time to visit this shop. So far, I am loving all those I've tried and I wish I hauled more. Will talk to you more about each product I have in furture posts.

For now, please browse through the photos I took and there might be something you're looking for.

This is the bath and body, their best seller. Price start at Php80 bucks. Great as gifts ideas. Nobody can have too many sample body gels.

I got my self the Organic Oats since I still have Olive Oil body butter at home. This I was told their most moving item. I think Filipinas love indulging in anti-aging products for their body. :)

Premiere skin care line are located at the other side. Packaging alone will tell you that the products have great quality. Their ELIXIR 7.9 serum is one of their newest products and marketed to those who wants to fight the first signs of skin aging.

On the shelf display near the counter is where most of their affordable skin care is placed. You'll find products for all skin types here. Above photo is geared more for those with Dry Skin. I love their Pure System. It really works on pimples and lessening the face's oiliness.

At the middle are drop-down prices and many of their new stuff. A lot of things in here are from Php150 to about 700. I hope you didn't miss their mid-year sale. But if you do, it's okay. Christmas is just right at the corner and I'm pretty sure another sale is happening.

I forgot to take picture of the cosmetic counter (slaps forehead). I was too busy testing their products. LOL!

The Haul! :)

Yves Rocher is located at the Mindanao entrance of Trinoma Mall. Where Starbucks atrium is located. It's super easy to spot. I can't wait til they open near my city but til then, I'll visit Yves Rocher Trinoma. :)

Thanks to Vianca and her team for inviting me! I had so much fun and the shopping relieved my stress. :)

Have you visited Yves Rocher? What's your favorite product from them?

I don't think my affinity to white accessories with wane anytime soon. It started a few years ago when I saw this cute pair of white and gold earrings at Moonlit Bazaar in Rockwell. Fast forward to today, I am still hauling white and gold earrings. Alas! Still at Moonlit Bazaar!

Jean and Rosz offers really chic up-to-date accessories that are worthy of a true fashionista. But even for a girl like me who barely knows how to put together an outfit, I find confidence in a pair of glittering gold earrings with white accents of something like you'll see below.

So when I visited Beauty Pro Cosmetics at the Digital Traincase booth a few weeks back, I was so happy to see Jean and Rosz, just beside it! What did you know! I bought two pairs of earrings! Holler!

Php270

I'm not exactly sure why I love pearls so much... probably because it's one of the first jewelries that I was allowed to wear in school and the fact is ... white! But this pearl clurstered earrings are ever so chic that goes well with a lot of my basics. Give that elegance to an otherwise ho-hum outfit. You know me, I'm not much of a fashionista.

Php150 (i think)

This "mentos"-like pair of earrings is just one of the many that I own. I like the smoothness of these accessories and how it lightens up my face. I find white accessories utterly classy and cool.

Hmm... what does that say about me... But really, I love anything white and if I'm not "dugyot" I'd sport this with a complete white ensemb! White palazzo pants, tank tops and heels. But alas! I'd probably quickly smear jam all over in a matter of minutes. And I don't eat jam, ha! #LOL

Thankfully though, these earrings are far from getting dirtied by my clumsiness. Both will remain pristine!

Other than these two, Jean and Rosz have a trunkful of fabulous accessories. Find what tickles your fancy at their website!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.. don't you think so?

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I'm doing this weekend rewind of posts that I did from the past week so you can catch up on some Shen's Addiction readings. I know many of us are very busy during work week and can only indulge on our readings, bobbies etc. during the weekend.

July 17: Couch Potato
I usually spend my Sundays with my family (the BF and Pups and sometimes, visiting Dad) and catching up on shows I missed. One of those is a current fave, MTV's 2011 revival of Teen Wolf. Want to know a little something about this latest TV Hit? That Cute Kid from Maid in Manhattan? He's the New Hunk Teen Wolf! Check out my post here.

July 18: Hair Care
Don't you just hare bad hair days? Well, I'm done suffering and finally got my hair rebonded at Creations Salon in Glorietta 5! I didn't know that I can get my hair rebonded and colored at same time! Want to know what happened and how my service went? Click the link here.

July 19: Femme Techs
Do you love music? I've joined the bandwagon and finally got myself a nice headphones! Yep, those bulky ones. But wait, check out how cool my new Hed Kandi Discotheque Blue/Pink Headphones on my post last Wednesday! It's just the coolest thing ever!

July 20: Outfit of the Day
No time to take a lot of pictures during our Bohol trip earlier this month. We simply lounged and drank too many Tanduay Ice as we let our body and mind rest from Manila stress. But boy was I happy I had a few good shots of my summer maxi dress! It's so colorful, partnering the bright weather that greeted us when we got there. This dress reminded of some really flower power days, so I named it Boho(l) Chic. It's a play on word for Boho and Bohol. :) Hehehe!

July 21: Haul Time
I didn't know that there were lots of restaurants and stores now at NAIA Terminal 3! And boy did I let my eyes feast on the stores. I also took home a few things from The Body Shop. Yep! I did some The Body Shop-ping. Want to know what I purchased? Check out my post here.

July 22: Product Review
Finally, a product review! Have you heard of the latest product from Garnier? I've seen this earlier in other beauty blogs and I'm glad it hits our stores. I did a Q&A post review of the Garnier Light BB Eye Roll-on! See if I was able to answer your questions. Should you have more, feel me to hit me with a Q! :)

July 23: The Makeup Look
Lastly, an FOTD! I'm calling it, The Makeup Look, since this is a more intense makeup look that isn't typically face of the day type.. :) I mean, seriously, I can't wear a bright makeup look like this in public! You'd easily spot me! Hehehe! Get ready with your shades, I really did a bright makeup look for the weekend, click here to find out.

That's it! Hope you get to check out all my post for the past week! More coming up this week! :)

For look or tutorial request, hit me up with a comment, tweet, FB stat or email! :)

My friend, Sarah's flight was delayed on the way back to Manila and we had to stay at the restaurant area of NAIA Terminal 3 and wait for her (We had some of her check in luggages). When I saw that they have a few stores that sell cosmetics, I couldn't resist. After having our early dinner at Pancake House (ordered my fave, Kiddie Spaghetti meal. Lol!) and playing the waiting game at Kopi Roti, I went ahead and excused myself from chikahan and finally see what they have in store for shopaholics like me!

They had Maybelline comsetics there from the US like Colossal and Lash Stiletto mascaras and satin foundations. L'oreal, too! But I was on a look out for a nice compact powder and there it was on sale at the Body Shop!! Sorry, no photos... was scared of security personnel stopping me from taking photos. You know how anal airport security can be.

I really love many things at The Body Shop, their baked eye shadows, bronzers, lipsticks, brushes and concealers are TO DIE FOR! That's just the makeup, don't get me started on their skin care and bath and body products. Unfortunately, I couldn't haul for everything I want so I settled for two important things that I needed.

mini reviews and face shots after the jump. :)

As promised, here's my Ilog Maria Bee Farm haul. Although I wanted to haul more of the beauty products, as you can see, I didn't. I've known for a long time the wonderful benefits that honey have to our body and I really want to focus on that first. After all, if we're beautiful on the inside, it will radiant in our skin. And I can't justify buying too much soaps and skin care when I have trunk full at home. See, I'm controlling my spending habits!

Propolis Liquid Soap

First on my haul is the Ilog Maria Honey Propolis Liquid soap. hoeny is such a natural resin and it assures me that what touches my skin when bathing is all Mother Nature. I love this a lot because it rivals all my other bath liquid soaps when it comes to the lathering and the scent. I love the spa-feel of this and how well it bubbles! I use this to wash my makeup brushes, too! Amazing, right?

I actually couldn't wait to use this that's why it looks like it's been used already, I use it as hand soap and keep it on my bag all the time. I like using soap instead of hand sanitizer when I'm outside.

Honey Glycerin Soap

Honey Glycerin Soap is filled with natural ingredients that keeps my face hydrated and smelling good as it contains Ylang-ylang (there's unscented available if you're iffy with scents). My skin's been a bit dry during the evening due to A/C exposure and using this soap helps to keep it hydrated.

Fresh Bee Pollen - Php110

You know why I took this off the rack... It's because of the two words: Fat Burner! Hehehe! There's a claim that Bee Pollen was known to aid losing weight. With exercise and proper diet and with the aid of this, it's possible that I actually get to losing weight in the next few weeks. But what I like most of of the Bee Pollen is that it actually increases my energy. It's true that I don't feel sleepy in the afternoon and just keep on moving and working whenever I take a teaspoon of this every morning before breakout. But it taste awful! It smells like bird seeds so I know have an idea what bird seed tastes like. LOL! But it's worth it!

When I saw the "Strengthens Immune System... for colds...allergies", I knew this will go with me when I leave Ilog Maria. I've been having bouts of colds and allergies since the beginning of the year and since taking the Bee Propolis Probiotic (nature's most powerful probiotic), I've been breathing a lot easier and I feel like my energy has been improving and my eyesight's been a bit better. It tastes like brandy with honey but that's because of the Coconut brandy mixed in this miracle concoction. With both combined, this is one effective way to heal high fever and other illnesses.

Propolis Ointment -

I feel like mosquitoes flock to me whenever we'll have coffee or dine outdoors and I'd end up with about 20 insect bites, more or less. And I always get scrapes and bruises, I feel like Nina from Black Swan. I may end up with Wings and bird legs and I won't be surprise. But who wants to get scars from it, right? I love this ointment because it has eucalpytus in it but it's not too hot for the skin that I think it's a good oitment for baby rashes and insect bites.

Propolis Throat Spray Php82.50

With the weather changing like ehem.. a woman's mind, my throat's been scratchy and this is the only thing that seem to settle it down. I was glad I bought this. It tastes a bit weird but it works so I don't mind it at all. It freshens the breathe too. Must hoard on this the next time.

Enjoying my visit to Ilog Maria is one thing but to know how amazing these products are and how well-made they are by Filipino hands and had working European honeybee's... it truly is a work of nature. I love everything I bought and I wish I could visit again and hoard on more Ilog Maria products. I just hope that we cooperate with Nature so that our bees will be able to make more honey!!

And this haul cost me only about Php600. Not exactly sure about the prices but most of the products are less than Php100 ($2).How great, right? :)

Have you tried Ilog Maria products? Can you reco products I ought to try after the I use all these?

I'm not so svelte as other people out there, so pardon my physique. :) I just recenetly hauled a few dresses at Forever2. Well, it definitely shows that Forever 21 has something for everyone. :) I go crazy whenever I go inside. I was just suppose to get a pair of shoes and instead I ended up with these stuff. No shoes in tow after. LOL!

I love these haul.. best of all, all of these are R's V-day gift! :)

These dresses I spotted are great for summer. Love the prints on the first one while I love the nautical feel of the second dress.

Bronzers were something I never really thought I'd be using. And look at me now, I can't call my makeup complete without it! I use it mainly to contour my cheekbones, especially now that my face is getting fatter. LOL!

When I did some hauling at ebay.ph for some very affordable Wet n' Wild cosmetics, I came across some of the bronzers and it took a lot of effort for me not to get them all. But when I saw the Wet n' Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Princess, it reminded me so much of my favorite MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden that I just got to have it. Looking at the picture though I know I could be mistaken but for Php125, i didn't think too much of it.

Hauling time! And this time it's Wet n Wild! Been hearing a lot of things about this brand and it looks to be at par with my favorite NYX makeup. I do love NYX like crazy and you all know that. And for me, anything cheap to sate this impossible makeup addiction is always welcome. So when I saw Donnarence hauling some Wet n Wild over at ebay.ph, I asked her how I could get my hands on it. And I certainly didn't waste a lot of time to get me some Wet n Wild.. :)
