"Look good, feel good and and do good."

Lily Cole, one the worlds hottest models and environmental and humanitarian activist, collaborated with The Body Shop, in support with the campaign Beauty with a Heart. In line with this, she has also created a line of cruelty-free makeup. Reflective of the young model/activist, the collection is dominated with vibrant hues of pink. Lily Cole have always wanted to be a part of a business that is very conscious and proactive in caring for nature and does make extra effort to do good.

From the 7-piece collection, I got a chance to have 4 of the Lily Cole Makeup collection, Shimmer Cubes (Think Pink, Live Lilac, Go Violet and Tint in Pink), Liquid Eyeliner in Purple, Puff on Radiance and Lip and Cheek Dome (Pinch Me Pink).

The look I came up with is a simple pink on purple look. it's a very flattering look and has a way of makin g me look a lot younger than a really am.

So far, here's the first glance of the collection I have in my vanity. I will be doing reviews on these soon. You may address your questions through the comment box below so I can include the answers on my reviews. But for the meantime, here they are!

This has got to be one of the most thought-provoking videos I've watched. It's an interview of Lily Cole on her perception of perfection and beauty. This video spoke volumes to me. I love how raw her thoughts are  and how she opened my eyes to seeing perfection in a different light.

Perfection for her is not particularly interesting. Advertising for beauty makes us feel that we are not enough until we look that. There is no authenticity. All of which, I agree with.

Let me take 4 minutes of your time to watch this video and hope it inspires you as it inspires me!

Thanks!

I am missing my little boy, Rex, so bad. We've gone through a lot when he was born. He's the biggest among the 3 pups and he was quite highaintenance. But we didn't mind at all.

Just look at that cute face! :) Who could ever resist him? I still keep coming back to this photo whenever I miss my little Rex. He's barely a size of a normal pillow.

And look at him now at 3 months old! He's growing up so fast and yet still keeps on getting cuter. He's almost as big as his dad, Chio! :) He is like a pillow now. :)

He's been mistaken for a Chow-chow several times already. And although he's a bully, he still has his sweetness in him whenever I see him.

I gave Rex to my dad and I think we madethe right decision. I think he makes the best pet for my oftentimes groughy papa. :) Hehehe!

Do you also have pets you miss? Lets talk about at the comment section below. :)

Young, vibrant and feminine. That's probably how I would describe the new Charriol Show-off fragrance. Designed for urban women, this fragrance embodies a chic elegance.

Top notes
The fragrance opens on a fresh, fruity and exuberant blackcurrant and bergamot accord, harmoniously enveloped in the delicate and elegant caress of peach velvet.
Scintillating, sparkling femininity, right from the start.

Middle notes
Its feminine core unveils an irresistible array of precious floral essences, at once glitteringly bright and divinely elegant. Violet absolute and lotus blossom extract, with a blush of rose petals.
The radiance of glowing, refined femininity.
Base notes
Amber, musk and cedar leave a mysteriously enveloping sensuality in their trail, for a voluptuous signature in dazzling colors.

The radiant sensuality of a woman whose natural elegance can be sensed and seen at first glance.
 --- from Charriol

Whenever fragrance brand would call us to attend their events or give us a sample of their latest product, I am a bit apprehensive. Given that I have a super sensitive nose,  I'm not easily swayed by fabulous events or grandiose presentation. I don't even care if the perfume is endorsed by famous celebrities... What I need is to smell it first and with just a whiff, I would know if it's worth whipping out my credit card for. Much less, a review on this blog.

Quite truthfully and without kidding, Charriol lived up to my expectations! (Letting out a huge sigh of relief). There's nothing worst than being treated to a fancy dinner with overflowing wine and good company and not to like the product, I tell you!

But Charriol Show-off exceeded all my criteria when it comes to perfume. I love the scent! It's appealing, addicting and not at all too storng.. I hope I'm making sense here. I'm not good with perfume review.

I should end this post with that... but I'd like to take in the fact that I got to hand it to Charriol for keeping true to its design aesthetics on how the bottle is shaped like the classic Charriol bracelet.

The amethyst shade not only makes it more Charriol but for me, it's a classic shade that reminds you only of royalty and finesse.

I only wear this perfume on special occasions. It's that kind of perfume that you reserve for important events or when you want to dress to impress. I don't need to bring the bottle with me since the scent last the whole evening.

It's also noticeable, the musk be the culprit. Quite surprisingly, I don't like musk. But with the combination of all the notes, I didn't even mind it. It's smells wonderful and totally classy.

In other words, lakas makayaman. #lol

If you ask me, I'd love for everyone to grab a bottle of this! But since perfumes depends on ones preferences, I hope at least I have sparked your interest to try/test Show-off out the next time you visit Rustan's or Charriol.

There's something about bright pink fuchsia lipsticks that makes me act more like a girl. God knows and so many people I know that I'm hardly the feminine type. I'm boisterous and loud, edging obnoxious. I'm not afraid to speak my mind as much as I like making small talks. Sometimes, people think I have no funneling system and seemingly as if I have no care for the world.

It may look like that way, but I'm not entirely all that summation. Like every other person, there's another Shen lurking inside that only the closest to me see. So I try to interpret it with my makeup and fashion choices.

When I say that I didn't have style, that means that I just dress up accordingly or when I'm channeling that girly-girl inside of me... That usually mean, pink or ultra feminine shades.

Like this look for instance...

I seem to be a bit reliant on 3 shades now... all from my dependable Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette. A palette that embodies the two persona residing in yours truly's body. The True Brown, Tan Brown and Shimmer Beige.

For me, this is the ultimate neutral make up look. It's unbelievably easy to recreate that I'm confident I can do this look even when I'm driving (although I don't advise on it) or even when both my eyes are closed (not blinded since I wouldn't be able to apply the eyeshadows then).

Tan Brown serves more as a contour which gives the appearance I have deeper crease. The Brown smokes it out a little. While the Shimmer Beige brightens up the eyes.

I don't know if you noticed that I lined my eyes thinly this time. Unfortunately, I didn't take this chance to Lana Del Ray my eyes. I just wanted to define and wing it to draw away people from seeing how droopy my eyes really are.

This look is meant to enhance the eyes.

I wish I have smaller nose. I really do. God knows I'd jump on a chance to get a rhinoplasty... and its at its worst when haters point out how big and ugly it is. But I try to cope. As I'm sure you do, too, whenever people pull you down and say bad things about your appearance.

We just really have to survive and realize that we can't please everybody. And though we may love everything about ourselves, there's always a silver lining. Mine are my lips. Many have complimented me on how full my lips are and though it took awhile for me to find the confidence to accept it... I finally did and it  became more comfortable to saying "Thank you" and acknowledge it.

Now I play with my lips and makes it often as a highlight of my makeup looks.

Shen's  Makeup Tip:
If you don't have a matte lipstick (we know those can be a bit expensive), opt for lip liners! They are drying, true... But with a well conditioned lips, this can pass for a matte lipstick. I got NYX Lip Liner in Fuchsia from Digital Traincase for only Php150 (during a bazaar). Viola! Instant matte lippie!

People may not always understand us and we may be a bit confuse as to who we really are. But instead of sulking and feeling sorry for yourself, take this time to explore your other facets and experiment. Blogging helped me a lot to put a lot of things in perspective. And if you're reading this post and feeling gloomy, I advise for you to create your own blog (if you still haven't) and simply start writing/typing. It doesn't have to be complicated, just something that is straight from the heart. :)

You'll never know where it might lead you... for me, it led to me experimenting with a more feminine looks and playing with bold lip colors. Which in turn, made me into the blogger that I am now. :)

Consider them l’essentials for lazy beach days and breezy bay nights…we sure do. Adieu!

Rizel is so grown up. She looks fabulous with her blue eyes and red lips. :)

Kang's features is truly meant to interpret the Hey, Sailor! collection. Loving her gold and blue eyes.

Owen Sarmiento drew a faux tattoo of a pin-up sailor girl on the huge biceps of the male model playing the sailor that day. The model was super hot, I envy Owen for having the chance to touch him! Hahaha!

Meet the girl who tapped dance for the mall goers that day. Her costume was so chic!!

Kirsten always looks so gorgeous!! Do you see her faux tattoo peeking out? :)

Yup! Played around with tons of fake tats that day. I had one applied on my chest and arm. You know how much I love tattoo so I was quite game for this.

But there's nothing like getting a chance to play around with makeup. Kang was so sweet to do my makeup that day. Since I didn't come in in nautical inspired outfit, she did  neutral makeup and blended red lipstick from the Hey, Sailor Collection that can still go well with my Poccahontas-look dress. Hehehe!

Red Racer and Sail La Vie

Kang is so talented at mixing colors. She mixed the two red-based lipstick to create a much brighter red hue that lasted the whole day for me! I decided to skip these red lipstick since I still prefer Ruby Woo. Sail La Vie seems to be Lady Danger's twin but more orange.

I am loving this makeover. My skin looks incredibly flawless. I must revisit my MAC Studiofix and must get me that clear MAC Lip Conditioer. Kang told me that she uses it on all her clients and it makes their lips supple and soft.. Argh!

Can you spot my tats? :)

Hot sailor in the house!

All that was missing was Captain America!

With Kang, one of the prettiest and talented MAC Makeup Artist. :)

My loots. :)

Are you excited about MAC Hey, Sailor? What will you be getting? I'm eyeing the Pro Long Wear Bronzing Powders. :)
