Sigma Buffer F45 Brush Review

Sigma Buffer F45 from PinkSlippers

Buffer brushes for me are as important as an eyeshadow primer. I use mineral foundation almost everyday. I even use it even when I'm just going to get something from my car. Even with traditional makeup. I love my buffer brushes.

From Ellana, Bare Naturals to Charm. I loved them all.

But there's a new player in town.

When Pink Slippers contacted me to review this Sigma Buffer Brush, I couldn't be more excited. I've always wanted the Sigma brush... anybody who's love for cosmetics and its tools are undying and those who got internet access knows what Sigma and what they have.

Covetable brushes that are nearly the same as MAC but with a cheaper price tag.

Buffer brushes are used for well, buffing foundation on to the face for a much a natural finish. This is typically used in mineral foundation, powder foundation and setting powder.

Sigma describe their F45 as "ideal to apply mineral foundation, loose or pressed powders. Also great to buff colors and obtain a soft, blended look. Natural bristles."

Typical size Buffer Brush

What I love...
1. Incredibly soft even after a few washes.
2. Natural fiber doesn't irritate my skin.
3. Great sleek looking brush.
4. Finally available here in the Philippines!
5. I love the black fibers since I could see the amount of product.

What I don't...
1. Tends to open up after a few washes
2. Comparing to a synthetic brush, strength in buffing is weaker.
3. Not a dense as I want it to be.

Top View

This could definitely compete with my other buffer brushes. :) And you know me, the more the merrier!

Addiction rating:
"I'd get this again if I lose this unless I find something that catches my attention."

Soothing my body with Phiten Life

I recently got acquainted with Phiten products. Phiten has been popular with sports athlete and those with highly stressful job. Phiten adapted the Phild Process in order to restor balance in the body. Something that athletes and those with demanding jobs really need.

Here's the more technical explanation of Phiten and the technology

Phiten is a Japanese brand that aims to help maintain the body's natural state of balance which is easily disrupted by today’s busy lifestyle.

Phild Process is a breakthrough technology from Japan through the effort of
Mr. Yoshihiro Hirata. It aims to help the human body maintain a balanced and relaxed state by influencing, restoring and balancing bio-electricity in the body.

Through the Phild Process, carbonized water-soluble forms of Titanium, Gold and Silver are used to permeate fibers and fabrics without the latter losing its texture creating Aquametal. AQUAMETAL is the remarkable water-soluble form of Titanium, Gold and Silver. These metals are then incorporated to Phiten products that when worn helps to improve circulation, promote healing and provide performance enhancement during physical activity.

1. Improvement – helps relieve pain like shoulder stiffness, backpain, muscle pain, improves blood circulation.
2. Prevention – helps prevent fatigue and injury by relaxing the muscles and thereby gaining some degree of flexibility; and
3. Enhancement – helps enhance physical abilities like muscle strength and flexibility; Maintains energy level throughout the day.

But what could it do for me, right? I actually thought of the same thing... When Mr. Ronaldo Colmenar urged us to try it on, it remind me of those baller bracelets. Then we saw the titanium ion things on the inside of the bracelets and the necklace.

3 Line Skeleton Bracelet - Php1,595.00
Rauwa Necklace S3 Line Skeleton - Php2,295.00

I got a bracelet and the BF will get the necklace.
The BF actually wore those for the last two bar exams and so far he has not made any back pain complaints when he came home unlike the first two weeks that he would have difficulty with his shoulders and back. So i guess it works, right?

My favorite item out of everything I got is the E-Water
I used this every night after driving because I'm having pains on my knees after a grueling traffic. Then I rubbed some under my eyes to relax the blood pooling there and making my eyes puffy. So far, so good.

E-Water Lotion Php1,495.00

The fact that it relaxes the muscle, I knew this would be a hit to me and my friends. Since it's pretty much safe to use on the face, this would be a great face moisturizer as it will definitely ease those wrinkles.

It just really looks like water but a little gel-ly.

Titan Tape - Php695.00 (not sure)

The future of Salonpas. Well, not really.
This one is great for those muscle pain on my arms after carrying my uber big bag stuffed with everything I can bring with me.

how to use... :)

I also got the mobile strap that goes for Php495.00

These things doesn't come cheap, though. But since many atheletes and CEO's got this around their necks, on their backs and even on their bed (yes, they have pillows and bed covers), then this is really something I should think on investing on. :)

The BF's birthday is coming up and I think a nice NBA Phiten necklace of this fave team would be something he likes. Hmmm...

much love,

Phiten is available in Toby's and they also have a free-standing stores in selected SM malls like Megamall and Mall of Asia.

The Body Shop Colourglide Lip Color in Rose Pink

The Body Shop Smoke and Fire Autumn Collection

The Body Shop Colourglide Lipstick in Rose Pink 07

Me wearing Colourglide lipstick in Rose Pink 07

I thought at first application that this is too dark on me but then I realized that this is such a perfect color for everyday no-makeup makeup look. I'm sure if you're looking for a nice fancy but not too expensive lipstick, this one could really work for you. It felt like the pink version of MAC Cosmo Lipstick for me.

And most definitely, you can use this for those smokey eyes look. Smokey eyes are well complimented with a neutral lipstick like Rose Mink or any subdued earthtone and pink shades of lip shades. This will definitely pull your smokey FOTD together. :)

How great that you can use your everyday lipstick for your smokey eyes looks? I thought I would need a different lipstick for that. Glad I don't need to. :)

much love,

FOTD: A Twinkle in the Eyes

Hello, Ladies!!

Another FOTD! This time my skin has chosen to misbehave and I'm getting all sorts of acne, from small ones to cystic ones. But I went to my dermatologist in Skinnovation (Of which Frances of Topaz Horizon's sister-in-law is a partner of), and I asked if I could take Acnetrex again. She advised for me to take it for the next 6 months in pulse method (2 caps for 7 days every month). Wish me well, because this journey will get a lot worst before it gets better.

For now, this is how I look like all made up.. well, not so much since I just used a few products on my face. And like my previous posts, I am still finishing up my ellana eyeshadows.

I used light colors here because this was the day I was going to get my haircut and I didn't want to distract the stylist from making the look that I wanted him to create. Also, I love Twinkle (bright sunny-y gold frost) from Ellana!! :) This shade reminds me of those Korean beauty magazines with all the glow-y sparkly make-ups. Then I complimented it with Siren (a yellow golden brown shimmer) I partnered it with a white eyeliner to make my eye pop a lot more.

I kind of miss my long hair... but not really.

Products used for the face:

VMV Skin Savvy Foundation in Clay
Ellana Perfect Blend Mineral Foundation in Hazelnut Latte
The Body Shop Kiss of Colour Cheek Blush in Vibrant Rose (The Stamp Blush)
The Face Shop Brow Powder Duo in 01
The Body Shop lip Colour in 07
MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden

Products used for the eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin
Ellana Mineral Eyeshadow in Twinkle
Ellana Mineral Eyeshadow in Siren
Maybelline Studio Gel Liner in Brown
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencil in Bourbon (brown)
MAC Eye Khol in Fascinating
Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara in Black

The love for makeup and all things beautiful... I guess this will never wan... I will always have this even if I grow old and wrinkly. And I do appreciate that you guys take your time to share this with me. :)

More to come for the coming days!! Right now, need to snuggle in with the BF. :)

much love,

The Body Shop's Smoke and Fire Eyeshadow Collection

Publish Post

The Body Shop Smoke and Fire Collection

Smokey eyes are the trend for Fall 2010 and The Body Shop Autumn Collection, the Smoke and Fire, is exactly that. Smokey eyes have always been a favorite amongst many artists and celebrities. It gives that draws attention to the eyes as well it can cause a good dramatic look. As for this author, I'm pretty psyched with this collection. I would die for an excure to do smokey eyes anytime of the day. Yes, even mornings. I do wish that I became a model just for the simple fact that models get to wear makeup a lot. :) Thank goodness, I found beauty blogging does the same time.

The Body Shop Eye Colour Midnight Blue, Velvet Green and Golden Peach

(click photo to zoom in)

Midnight Blue

It's a myth that fair skinned women are the only once who can wear blue eyeshadow. We morenas can actually pull off this Midnight Velvet eye shadow that can be used wet for intensity or dry for fast application. Make that eyes pop and alluring during the rainy days with a blue eyeshadow that can compete with the gloomy days. :)

Velvet Green

Green eyeshadow fits all Filipina from fair to dark skin tones and many can attest to that. And this shade is one of the most impressive shade of verdant I've ever seen. This is really an attention-grabbing eye shadow but it grabs the good kind of attention. This will definitely enhance your eyes like crazy. If you like clubbing and donning dresses this is the best eyeshadow to compliment you.

Golden Peach

Of course, a good smokey eyes needs a good highlighter and this Golden Peach is the right answer for that. This shades is best for highlight, tearjust, higlighting the lower eyelids and tracing the inner part of the tear lines for accentuating eyes. During a simple date or a lunch with the girls, you can just swipe this over your eyelids, apply your eyeliner and mascara andyou're good to go. :)

Swatches of Midnight Blue, Green Velvet and Golden Peach

Aren't they gorgeously pigmented? And that's just the picture. Just imagine how they look in person. :)

The Body Shop Eye Colour is available at all The Body Shops branches for only Php595.00 each.

The Body Shop Lightening Touch (reformulated)

Along with the Smoke and Fire Collection of the The Body Shop Autumn Collection, is a relaunch of their Lightening Touch. Lightening Touch is one of the brand's most impressive products. It's the first under eye concealer I bought when I was starting out with my makeup addiction. And I'm glad I have the new one.

The Body Shop's Lightening Touch has gone through a make over. It used to be like this. But now, the twist is a bit shorter and it has a lot more products in it. The before 1.8 ml products now has 3 ml here and it's only Php950.00!

The Body Shop Lightening Touch in 04

Bare right under-eye

Applied with TBS Lightening Touch in 04

TBS Lightening Touch in 04 set with powder

Personally, I think this one is a tad too dark on my medium fair skin tone. It does cover my dark under eyes but not enough to give me that lightening touch effect. I should grab the 03 next time I go to The Body Shop.

Bare left under-eye

With The Body hop Lightening Touch in 03

The Body Shop Lightening Touch in 03, set with powder foundation

What I love:
1. How easy it is to apply with its soft brush.
2. Travel friendly because of the packaging.
3. Sleek silver twist pen container is just too elegant to resist.
3. No chemicals in the ingredients.
4. Brightens the eyes without looking like it was over done .
5. Blends well especially when set with powder foundation.
6. Doesn't crease on me for good 3 to 4 hours.
7. No unsafe chemicals to harm the skin.
8. Against animal testing brand.
9. Available in different shades.
10. Available in the Philippines at all The Body Shop branches.

What I don't:
1. Not sweat-proof.
2. May not be enough to cover severe dark under-eyes.

Addiction Rating:
"It's effective and I'll buy it again. But I may think twice if another highlighter catches my attention."

There you have it another from The Body Shop Autumn Collection, Smoke and Fire!

Hope you guys have a wonderful work/school week ahead of you!!
For all the lady drivers out there, may we try to hurdle the traffic of day to day safely!!

New Hair Cut!!

Sorry for the all caps but I'm just static about my new hair!! :) This was my hair back in college and yeah, I like it. It's been so long since I really cut my hair short. I love how light it feels.

Thanks to Duke of Frank Provost Fort Bonifacio for getting the style I want spot on.

Frank Provost service is one of the best salon I've been to. They have very attentive and accommodating staff. I simply can't get over how fabulous I felt during my staff... and a lot mroe fab after I left. These guys, they do know their stuff. :)

Not too long and yet not too short

Frames my face without making me it too round

compliments my hair color

I told Duke I wanted to look prim and proper. Hehehe!

I'm sooo happy!
For a cut that cost me only Php570.00!!

FOTD: Simpliest Purples (Ellana, One Naturales, Purederm, Urban Decay)

Another FOTD!

What a rainy week we are having! Getting around has been a little difficult because I hate driving when it rains and and I get a bit more lazier to do things. Sorry for the lack of posts! :) Will try to make it up to do next time!

This is probably one of the simpliest FOTD I've done and many of you may not be impressed at all. I told you on my previous FOTD that I was finishing up the left over products on my ellana pots. This time, I decided to use my favorite purple/violet eye shadows from their collection, Pixie and Laugh. I also added a touch of Belle (a soft shimmery frost pink) and a little of Delicate (a taupe brown frost and a personal favorite).

You know what I noticed? Ellana eyeshadows hardly creases! I forgot how well this eye shadow blends on my lids. It's been so long since I used these eye shadows that I forget how great they are. It definitely lasts a lot longer than the non-mineral I've used.

Of course, I use an eye primer... but then, even with an eye primer such as Urban Decay, Smashbox, Etude House and Too Faced, my eye shadow still creases at the end of the day.

So, yes... I think I'm renewing my relationship with Ellana (and other mineral eye products) from now on. :)

For the eyes:

For the Face:
Ellana Mineral Foundation Perfect Blend in Hazelnut Latte

MAC Sculpt and Shape Powder Bone Beige Emphasize

For the Lips:

I dream of weekend already. I will be joining a Clean Up at Hamilo Coast. I'm so excited. But the call time is 4 AM!! I do hope I can get up early! Else, I have no choice but stay up all night. LOL!

Til next time, girls!! Gotta catch up on some Zzzz's!!
