This was my #FOTD a few weeks ago.

I’m living a no foundation life lately. Often, there’s no time at all to do my makeup so this is my no frills look that is ideal for mommies like me or those who don't want to clutter their vanities with too much makeup. Can you believe this takes only 3 minutes to do?

Let's get right to it!

Today let me start off the week with a collection that truly impressed me. It's the Cathy Doll Nude Me Liquid Lip Matte you've been seeing making rounds on social media the past few days. And it's for a good reason, this one was born to shine! From the packaging, to the shades and consistency and the price point of only P399 a pop!

In a makeup world that is ruled by Kylies, Jeffree Stas and and most recently Contour Queen, #KKW, I really don't find myself buying a lot of of these makeup. I feel that we have way too many makeup brands waiting to be discovered and certainly worth my money. And my goal as always is to make sure you get yours with every post I make!

And that is why I find it with utmost importance to steer you away from the marketing hype and show you that some products are better even without the great advertising spend. And that is why these babies right here on the blog today.

I couldn't contain my excitement when I got a hold of the Pixi by Petra Pixi Pretties. This time around, Petra partnered with lifestyle and beauty gurus to create amazing collections that all women would want. And yes, she was spot on that we all wanted everything from Pixi Pretties.

Gotta thank +GlamourboxPH for bringing in Pixi because it is seriously one of the brands I stand by. I see Pixi by Petra the same way I see Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and Chanel. These women broke barriers, build cornerstones for women with every beauty products they put out. Each having a remarkable impact in women's lives.

Wondering which neutral palette to get? As your resident beauty addict, I had to take a closer look at these palettes Revlon just recently launched here in Manila, the ColorStay Not Just Nudes Palettes.

I had a lot of fun testing and swatching Maybelline's Dream Velvet Soft Matte Hydrating Foundation. It's their newest foundation. I was so excited to get all 5 shades that I decided to do a video swatching to figure out what shade suit my skin. Maybelline is quite excited to launch this since it has the widest range of shades that really matches Pinay skin. Finally!

Come on, watch the video and check out if we have the same shade!

Played with makeup again! Yey!!

When a busy momma has time to kill, this momma plays with makeup. But who in the right mind would put on a full face for a playdate? Me! Well, I had time to kill since Claud's afternoon nap took quite a awhile. I didn't want to her up so after getting dressed, I went ahead and gathered all the make up I had on my desk and tried to create a look with all of them.

This look goes to show that even with years of doing makeup, things may not always go your way especially if you don't plan ahead. To be honest, this is really a case of bad skin day and during this time I was in dire need of a derma visit. My skin was ridden with dark spots and acne which caused me to overthink this whole makeup look and went all crazy with the application. Not to mention that I wanted to try a lot of products that are on my desk at that moment. Good thing a few days after, I was invited to try SkinCell in Malate and their assessment and treatments did help my skin bounce back. Apparently, I have PCOS to blame for this incessant cystic acne.

I did this look for an event I attended last April 1st. I know, it was April Fool's day and I think the joke was on me. This FOTD was pretty much haphazardly done and I have no one to blame except myself. I know, you deserve better! But hey, I'm not completely unhappy with this sort of KPOP-lips inspired look.

Finally, a beauty post! Sorry that I'm wearing my mommy blogger far too often now. I promise to resume being a beauty blogger role stat! I really do have soo much in store for you! I'll make it up to you, I swear it! Let's proceed, shall we?

It's just me but I consider a brand worth paying attention to when they come out with impressive face products. Colors are fun but it's the face base that are the toughest to perfect. I would like to think that a brand and its people did a great deal of testing and research. And not put anything out there haphazardly done when it comes to their foundation and face powders because they know their color products like lipsticks and shadows are going to carry them. When you want to do something, you might as well pour all your heart and soul in it, right?

That's why on the top of must-try lists from the Pink Sugar line are their BB cream, concealer and face powder.

It's been awhile since I really dolled up.

Since I had baby Claud, I barely had time to put on makeup on. Taking care of her is all I wanted to do from the moment she opens her eyes in the morning to the minute she closes them at night. I'm a lucky mom though because my baby is easily content. That's why I allow myself an hour or two sometimes to attend events here and there and to write here on my blog.

And when I received the invite to Pond's Beautiful Story event, I took this chance to try to glam myself up. Well just a little bit. So in between breastfeeding and rocking baby Claud to sleep, I started to spruce up.  I missed this! Don't get me wrong, I love motherhood but it really does take so much of my time. So getting to play with my makeup again was such a sweet breather. Thank God, our baby Claud wasn't so fussy.

So here's my very first Face of the Day as a Mom! :)

I've always been slightly afraid of using eye pencil. Basing on past experiences from long time ago, they usually disappoint me. They crease, they transfer and they gravitate to the lower lids. But seeing a lot of makeup looks on Instagram lately had me rethinking about using one. I wanted to create a simple makeup look but slightly intensified with the super pigmented black eyeliner. I wanted my eyes defined with the blackness of an eye pencil and see how well it would look on me.

The result was a slightly smoked effect that I love. The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen has that creamy consistency that allowed me to work with and treat it almost like a gel liner. I was able to wing it out with angled liner brush. It dried pretty quickly and stayed put for most of the day but sadly, it was weak against my oily lids and transferred a little. It also faded quite a bit on the waterline but the effect is pretty much in tact. The Pixi Perfection Palette in Lit-Up Lovely was a good palette to use for this look. The satiny shadows was a dream to work with. It gave my eyes more dimension compared to using just matte shadows--which isn't bad either but I'd rather have effects on the shadows for the look I was going for.

I love this look. It's still the classic neutral look but definitely not an ordinary one. It's a typical makeup look, really, but one that scared me before. I'm glad I took another shot at using a black eye pencil. It definitely spiced up everyday makeup routine. I also love the after effect that this look distracted me from noticing my puffy under eyes.

It really amazes me how one simple product with just a few strokes, you alter your look entirely.. and in a good way. :)

How do you find this makeup tutorial? Are you also scared of black eye pencil? :)

Do you really need an excuse to party? I don't think so. Rather, seek out the opportunity and say yes when the DJ starts to play his music. Believe me when I say that time will come that you won't even want to go out on a weekend. :)

When has life started to get dull for me? I use to stay up all night dancing and wearing out the DJ's playlists. I was then always the last girl on the dance floor. Well, those days are far behind me. I am nearing my 30th birthday and I can say that my life has turned pretty mellow.... and yes, it is for the better.

My kind of partying now compose of attending evening events for different brands who invite me and going out for drinks with friends. It may not necessarily include shaking my booty but I'm more than okay with that. After all, you never know where the night will take you oftentimes.

So for that, I choose my go-to evening makeup look, a bronze-gold smokey eyes and nude lips. When paired with a little black dress and pumps, you are half assured it's going to be a fun night. I turn to my Urban Decay Naked Palettes when creating this look. For this tutorial, I chose the second Naked Palette. The base is cool but definitely a great palette for creating looks such as this.

  1. Apply Half Baked on the lid. I prefer to pat it with my ring finger for a more vibrant look.
  2. Contour the outer V with Snakebite (a deep bronze shadow). Wing it out and this helps with extending out your eyes and lifting them up. A great answer to droopy eyes like mine.
  3. Deepen the crease with Busted or a black eyeshadow to ge the illusion of a rounder eye lid.
  4. Extend it down to the lower lids for a more realistic effect of a larger rounder eyes.
  5. Define the eyes with a gel liner.
  6. Apply false lashes to enhance your real ones and to open your eyes more.
  7. Apply mascara bring real and false lashes together for a natural effect.

Paired it with MAC Peachstock, my favorite nude lipsticks and topped it off with Mary Kay Nourishine Lip Gloss.

Healthy looking cheeks should be paired with this look so apply blush liberally and MAC Gleeful did the job for me here. And of course, don't forget to contour. :) For the complete list of the products used, here they are:

Products used:
Benefit Porefessional as primer
Vichy Dermablend in Nude (review here)
K Palette 0 Kuma Concealer (review here)
MAC Studio Fix Concelaer for dark spots and pimples

MAC Mineralized Blush in Gleeful
Benefit Hoola
K Palette Real-Lasting Eyebrow Liner (review here)

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (review here)
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner
Fairydrops Platinum Mascara (review here)
Hurraw! Mint Lip Balm
MAC Peachstock lipstick
Mary Kay Nourishine lip gloss
Mary Kay Makeup Setting Spray

This look was achieved using the brushes included in the Charm Sonia Travel Pro Set (review here).

I love this look and I'm sure you'll love it, too! So go on! Go out with your friends, have fun and look great doing it!

Hello there, ladies! It's another Manic Monday!

My skin can freak out at the most inconvenient times. The only time that I have clear skin is right after my period. Which, by the way, is the best time to get yourself photographed. I can't remember who, but a certain popular celebrity photographer back in the 90's only photographs women for an important shoot (like billboards, magazines etc.) a day or two after their menses.
