Welcome to my annual announcements of favorites. But this time, I will share them with you one by one to give them the proper accolade instead of just a mention. :)

One reaches and receives this award when a singular criteria has been met.

When I've used it frequently.

I think that that's the best way to say if a product is indeed a favorite and well-worth the mention. As a beauty blogger who gets to try a lot of things, this is one great time that I get to share to you what I think is worth your money since I have really tested the product well.

And on the top of the ranks in my option is the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Eye shadow Palettes.

First off, Beauty Pro Cosmetics Palettes are for every aspiring makeup artists. It has amazing pigmentation, staying power, encased in an ergonomic faux-leather that doesn't take up too much space. Built with every woman in mind, another great thing about this palette is its creator, Brigitte Santos. A blogger turned makeup artist, she finally took steps to realize her dreams of making her own cosmetic brand. She believes that with Beauty Pro Cosmetics, everyone can be a makeup artist. And I agree.

Palettes is certainly one of my favorite things when it comes to makeup. Acquiring my very first one made blogging about beauty seems more legit. But learning to differentiate the best from the duds, now that took a lot of practice. Now, I spend for my palettes. I make sure to get the best. There's nothing like knowing you made the right choice and knowing that your money didn't go to waste. Beauty Pro Cosmetics, is definitely a worthy indulgence.

Hmm.. I'm sounding like a beauty queen contestant! Must be from recent Ms. Universe. Indulge me, alright?

Available at Digital Traincase.

P.S. This palette is fast moving and are al nearly out of stock, so if your have extra aguinaldo from Christmas, I suggest snagging this immediately.

I was invited by my Quorum sister, Christine, to do the makeup of her models (who are also Quorum members) for the latest collection of her clothing brand, Reve.

Reve is an up and coming fashion brand, created by two lovely sisters, Christine and Cecille. Both sisters have always loved fashion and have been seen sporting the latest trends. It's all but natural that they translate their passion for fashion into their own brand. Seeing as how beautiful their creations are, I could only say yes when they invited me to be a part of their latest collection as makeup artist.

I honestly was apprehensive to accept the job at first. It's been awhile since I did something as rigorous as an outdoor shoot. I was scared that my skills would be a failure. Doing makeup on another person is quite a different thing from knowing how to do your own. I thought my skills aren't at par for a project such as this.

Thanks to the beautfiul sunlight that day and great products, I was able to quite a decent job for this shoot. :)

Another thing that I brushed up on was my photography skills. I miss shooting people and this was an opportune time to practice my skills and I loved it. Post prod by your truly as well. :)

Here are photos after the shoot. I can't believe how well the makeup stayed put! :) Did you know that these two beautiful girl, Marix and Iway are law students and are on the top of their class? Yes, they've got both beauty and brains. That's Quorum for you! :)

Products Used:

Majolica Majorca Cream Liner
Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette

Thanks, Tin, for inviting me. And to my beautiful models, Marix and Iway, I'm so proud of you! So proud to be a Quorum! :)

When going to an event, especially a formal one, you don't want to change your look entirely. You just need to be the best version of you... You but a little bit polished. This look I created is great for any event, actually. For attending debuts, weddings and other formal occasion.

I wore this look when I went to the Tupperware Brands Chain of Confidence event. It was the time when they launched the Search for 10 Women of Confidence and showed the viral video in super of the campaign. And I was in that video. Despite being confident about who I am and loving my curves as well as my pore-ful face, it was an occasion that needed be to look presentable. :)

So as you can see, there is no cateyes, thick lashes and bold lip color. I just covered my pimples and blemishes, defined my cheekbones and gave myself some brows. For the eyes, I did something Oprah-ish. Notice how she favors purple eye makeup look? I thought it was very distinguished. And well, who else could be a better inspiration but the most powerful woman in the world, right?

But I didn't exactly do it the way she does but rather played with how purple can work with my own eyes naturally. And I do have some history with purples. :) I love that I can still play with colors and manage to look polished. :)

Do you think I was successful? When a friend saw this, she thought it also makes a great bridal look. :) Got kilig she said that. :)

Products I used to achieve this look:

Face Makeup:
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation
The Body Shop All in One Face Base
Nar Blush in Orgasm (for color)
The Body Shop Matte Bronzer (for definition/contour)
K-Palette Real Lasting Brow Liquid Pen (to define my brows)
The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit (to color and make it thicker)
K Palette Okuma Concealer in 02

Eye Makeup:
Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray Primer
Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette
VMV Ohh-La-Lash Mascara
L'oreal Super Liner Lasting Silky Crayon

Lips:
Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex BE205

Necklace from Accessorize
Earrings from bazaar
Dress from Forever21

I'm loving the products I used for this look. They did amazingly well to give me that natural "improved" look. :) Confidence do not come easy for a girl like me. Sometimes, when I don't feel like my best, I go to cosmetics for a boost... Nothing like a nice lipgloss that gives you that natural pout or a blush that mimics your natural one.

What's your boost of confidence?

Boy do I miss playing with colors! My skin is slowly going back to normal and now I get a chance to play with more vibrant shades. What will I do without makeup? If you know how to use them or more precisely, how to remove them properly... the possibilities are endless.

I'm happy that no matter what state my skin is, I get to play around with them. Which reminds me that I've got to tell you about my favorite makeup removers soon!

But for now, let's celebrate with colors. Say hello again to my uber wonderful Beauty Pro Cosmetics Palette, Crazy Colours. Doesn't it remind you of your watercolors back in grade school? I love this palette so much, I wish I can use it everyday.

This time, Periwinkle and Vivid Purple caught my attention. I remember hogging these two shades from everybody's crayola boxes when I was younger.

Here's the look I came up with. :)

Pretty, noh? :)

I amplified the purple look with the Makeup Forever Aqua Liner in Diamond Black Purple and lined my lower line with K-Palette Eyeliner Black. Amped up my lashes with Revlon 3D Volume Mascara

Pink cheeks and lips pairs well with purple so play with these shades to give harmony to your look. :)
I used a generic pink blush from one of China-made palette while the lipstick are from Bobbi Brown Hi-Shine Colleciton.

Do you love purple makeup look? I hope it doesn't remind you too much of Barney, though. :) LOL!

Another tutorial for you, ladies.

Yes, it's okay to wear eye makeup everyday especially if your profession requires you to do so. I, myself, don't recommend it. It could be tiring to keep removing them at night and it's important to let your skin breathe once in awhile. But the point of this tutorial is to help you out on how to make it easy for you to do eye makeup on yourselves without fear you'll take too much time or you'll look like a clown. :)

What you'll need:

1. Brown eye shadow (preferably one that is two shades darker than your skintone). It should be imitate how shadow rest on your eyes.
2. Beige eye shadow (shimmer or matte will do), it should be a shade  lighter than your skin tone to brighten your eyes.
3. White shimmer eyeshadow (to lighten the inner corner of your eyes)
4. Eye liner (eye pencil, liquid or gel, any will do)
5. Eye Curler
6. Mascara

Step 1: Apply brown eye shadow to deepen the crease.
Step 2: Apply the beige eyeshadow on to lids.
Step 3: Brighten the eyes with white shimmering eye shadow on the inner corners of the eyes.
Step 4: With the dark eye shadow, apply it on the lower lash line.
Step 5: Apply  the liquid liner as thin as possible and as close to the lower lash line for a natural look.
Step 6: Curl lashes as usual
Step 7: Apply highlight shade to the brow (you can use your beige eyeshadow or mix it with the white shimmering shadow)/
Step 8: Enhance water line with an eye pencil
Step 9: Coat both upper and lower lashes with mascara to lengthen and volumize it.

And you're done! :)
This is a flattering look that will take you from day to night and you just have to change your lipstick.
It will take time to do this in just few minutes, but with practice I assume that you'll get better and better that you'll hardly feel yourself exerting any effort at all. :)

Remember that makeup is all about creating illusions. Giving your face an added boost so you'll feel more confident.
Products I used:

Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet & Smokey Palette
K Palette 24h Real Lasting Tattoo Eyeliner
The Body Shop Lash Curler
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Pencil
Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara

Tips:
1. Easily determine the eye's crease by gently placing the pad of your ring fingers and feel the space between your eyeballs and your brow bones. Place the darker shadow there. Spread with a crease blending brush if needed.
2. Start with darker shadow first before placing the lighter ones to not overshadow it.
3. Curl lashes to prep it better for mascara.
4. Apply mascara on your lower lashes to open up the eyes.

I hope this tutorial helps you out and encourages you to try this look! :)

I wore this look just before the Habagat struck and ruined a lot of lives and livelihood. I hate it when it storms. I get this little panic attacks that is just too difficult to bear. But I'm grateful that everyone in my family are okay. My dad stayed with us for a couple of days which I'm grateful for because the storm really did a toll in Marikina and I'm glad my dad didn't have to stay there alone to deal with the flood.

Now that everything is getting back to normal, I suddenly don't feel well. My allergies are getting worst and I fear it might be because of the dogs. :( I had a hard time breathing last Friday that I was rushed to the ER. Now I have to use a nebulizer to help with my wheezing cough. For the past two days, I've been feeling this tightening in my chest and I'm scared to have it checked out. I fear I damaged my heart since I couldn't get enough air to it coz my cough. :( I really am scared that I'm sick... I am hoping for a miracle that all will be well tomorrow.

On a lighter note, I got inspired to create this look while I was browsing through Instagram and saw someone create a teal/aquamarine eyes inspired by Princess Jasmin. So the next morning, I went ahead and created one using my Beauty Pro Palette and Double Stack Matte Eyeshadows and Blush Palette.

Products used:

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
Double Stacked Eyeshadow and Blush
K Palette 24H Tattoo Eyeliner in Black
Revlon 3D Volume Mascara

Face:
Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liqud Foundation
The Body Shop All-in-one Face Base Makeup Powder
Nars Blush in Orgasm

Lips:
Nyx Soft Matte Liquid Lipstick in Sau Paulo

I hope everyone is safe now from the flood and is doing well, getting by and surviving the aftermath.

I wish it's Summer all over again. It's much better when the sun is shining.

Don't you agree?

There's something about bright pink fuchsia lipsticks that makes me act more like a girl. God knows and so many people I know that I'm hardly the feminine type. I'm boisterous and loud, edging obnoxious. I'm not afraid to speak my mind as much as I like making small talks. Sometimes, people think I have no funneling system and seemingly as if I have no care for the world.

It may look like that way, but I'm not entirely all that summation. Like every other person, there's another Shen lurking inside that only the closest to me see. So I try to interpret it with my makeup and fashion choices.

When I say that I didn't have style, that means that I just dress up accordingly or when I'm channeling that girly-girl inside of me... That usually mean, pink or ultra feminine shades.

Like this look for instance...

I seem to be a bit reliant on 3 shades now... all from my dependable Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette. A palette that embodies the two persona residing in yours truly's body. The True Brown, Tan Brown and Shimmer Beige.

For me, this is the ultimate neutral make up look. It's unbelievably easy to recreate that I'm confident I can do this look even when I'm driving (although I don't advise on it) or even when both my eyes are closed (not blinded since I wouldn't be able to apply the eyeshadows then).

Tan Brown serves more as a contour which gives the appearance I have deeper crease. The Brown smokes it out a little. While the Shimmer Beige brightens up the eyes.

I don't know if you noticed that I lined my eyes thinly this time. Unfortunately, I didn't take this chance to Lana Del Ray my eyes. I just wanted to define and wing it to draw away people from seeing how droopy my eyes really are.

This look is meant to enhance the eyes.

I wish I have smaller nose. I really do. God knows I'd jump on a chance to get a rhinoplasty... and its at its worst when haters point out how big and ugly it is. But I try to cope. As I'm sure you do, too, whenever people pull you down and say bad things about your appearance.

We just really have to survive and realize that we can't please everybody. And though we may love everything about ourselves, there's always a silver lining. Mine are my lips. Many have complimented me on how full my lips are and though it took awhile for me to find the confidence to accept it... I finally did and it  became more comfortable to saying "Thank you" and acknowledge it.

Now I play with my lips and makes it often as a highlight of my makeup looks.

Products used:

Foundation: Makeup Forever HD Foundation
Powder Foundation: The Body Shop All-in-One Face Base
Concealer: Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in 02
Undereye Setting Powder: Revlon ColorStay Aqua in Light Pale
Contour: The Body Shop Matte Bronzer in 04
Blush: Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pale Pink

Eye Primer: Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray Primer
Eyeshadow: Beauty Pro Cosmetics in Sweet and Smokey Palette
Eyeliner: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in 01 Black
Mascara: Maybelline Magnum Super Film

Lips: NYX Lip Liner in Pink Fuchsia

Shen's  Makeup Tip:
If you don't have a matte lipstick (we know those can be a bit expensive), opt for lip liners! They are drying, true... But with a well conditioned lips, this can pass for a matte lipstick. I got NYX Lip Liner in Fuchsia from Digital Traincase for only Php150 (during a bazaar). Viola! Instant matte lippie!

People may not always understand us and we may be a bit confuse as to who we really are. But instead of sulking and feeling sorry for yourself, take this time to explore your other facets and experiment. Blogging helped me a lot to put a lot of things in perspective. And if you're reading this post and feeling gloomy, I advise for you to create your own blog (if you still haven't) and simply start writing/typing. It doesn't have to be complicated, just something that is straight from the heart. :)

You'll never know where it might lead you... for me, it led to me experimenting with a more feminine looks and playing with bold lip colors. Which in turn, made me into the blogger that I am now. :)

Have you ever been mocked or judged? Did you ever feel you don't have any beauty in you? Share your thought with me and let's talk about it!

Neutrals' been a friend lately. My skin is so bad I feel like I'm back in puberty stage yet again. So I have to be very careful when it comes to applying my makeup. I can't apply too much or it will cake around the pimples and reddish parts of my face. Bad skin days happens to me a lot now with all the lack of sleep and skipped meals. I'm just glad I'm backed up good skin care regimen.

I did a pink eyes, peachy pink cheeks and pink lips to give my skin that healthy look and keep the focus away from my skin and enlarged pores. Of course, to maintain this look, I needed to retouch at least twice a day as products seems to smear off of my oily face whenever I break out.

Products used:

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow SPF25 PA++ in Honey
Benefit Hello Flawless Compact Powder
The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer in 02
Benefit Bella Bamba Box 'o Powder Blush
Benefit Sun Beam
The Body Shop Matte Bronzer in 04

Combining a bright colored eye shadow with brown eye shadow brings a neutral feel to the look without having to encased yourself to simple nudes alone. I like the brust of pink in this eye shadow as it provides

For the eyes:

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer
Beauty Pro Cosmetics in Crazy Colour and Sweet and Smokey
Maybelline Gel Liner in Black
Benefit They're Real Mascara
K-Palette Eyebrow Liner 24h Tattoo

Lips:

Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick in Amelia Rose.

I'm in love with Avon Ultra Moisture Rich Lipstick. It glides on perfectly and the color is just superb. I heard that Amelia Rose is a bestseller. Can't help but to agree, the pinkish purple shade makes it a pretty everyday lipstick. It's not to bold but bright enough to make a bit of statement.
