I just love a good whitening lotion and a top favorite is SkinWhite Advanced Power Whitening Lotion SPF 20. With over a decade under its belt, Skin White remains to be a top contender as a whitening lotion for many Filipina. Matter of fact, I see this lotion being imported to different countries for its appeal to all Filipinas all over the over.

Not to mention that SKinWhite smells great on its own. But their patented InstantWhite technology makes them more mabenta for its efficacy.

What to love:

It smells really great. - being home all day doesn't really call for me to whiten my skin, unlike the pre-pandemic times. So right now, I like to enjoy the scents of lotion. The scent is powdery-floral and lingers nicely onto my skin that I can opt not to use a cologne anymore.

It applies to the skin really well and absorbs easily. - this is the reason why a lot of people even my family abroad loves lotions from the Philippines. We have perfected consistency that is appropriate for our weather - light, airy and absorbs easily onto the skin.

It moisturizes the skin - the often downside of whitening is its ability to make the skin drier. But SkinWhite moisturizes the skin well.

It's affordable - only 300 for a 350ml bottle and get it as a bundle for 700 with freebies and FREE SHIPPING.

And to add, there's are other products that you can check out from SkinWhite.

A lot of their products have are 30% OFF. Start your hoiday shopping by scoring these bundle deals. Other than SkinWhite, there are other brands participating! Look out for these Skinwhite must-have bundle deals at 15% off and discounts from your favorite brands and shops at 90% off at Christmas in our Carts running from October 12 to December 25. Wishing your carts a Merry Christmas!

I can't stop using Snow Skin Whitening Lotion. I've been using these for months (almost a year actually) and the results are just amazing! Going to Davao last July left my skin patchy with tan and my cheeks and nose bridge got toasted. Took only a few months to get rid of the sun damage along with evening out my skin.

If you're wondering what's up with Snow and why a lot of us beauty bloggers and vloggers are loving this product, it's because it contains 7 healthy doses of safe and effective skin lighteners. There's science behind these products. And as a mom, I try not to use harmful skin products that can transfer on to my child's skin.

I remember my Pedia once told me to avoid using lotions since it may contain estrogen that makes skin smoother but can be harmful to babies causing skin inflammation and irritation. Since then, I've been really picky with what I use on my body. So far Snow Whitening Lotion and cream are the only ones I feel I'm hiyang with.

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion is a relatively new product, you might have seen her sister, SnowCaps in billboards. What sets them apart from regular whirtening is the 7 Elite ingredients they have in each bottle.

  • Alpha-arbutin - promotes lightening and an even skintone on all skin thpes
    • Minimizes liver spots
    • Can reduce the degree pf skin taaning due to UV exposure
    • Popular whitening ingredients found in most whitening beauty and personal care products
  • AlfaflorGigawhite - derived form Alpine plant that has tyrosinase-inhibiting activity. Proven to be effective and results are immediate.
  • BetaGlucan or SymGlucan - a natural product derived from oats that contains moisturizing and anti-aging effects. It resulted to smoother and softer skin just in less than 4 weeks.
  • IBR TCLC - this tomato colorless carotenoids has a lot of benefits! It provides sun protection, antioxidant and even has anti-inflammatory. It's so effective that it even boosts other active ingredients it comes across with.
  • IBR Snowflake - an ingredient derived from Summer Snowflake bulbs that has been proven to slow the signs of aging and targets muscle contraction! And yes, it is still a skin lightening ingredients.
  • BearBerry Extract - or Melfade-J  is derived from bearberry leaves and when combined with magnesium acorbyl phospate is yet another ingredient that effectively inhibits tyrosinase.
  • Pheylethyl Resorcinol or SymWhite - a breakthrough ingredient that is proven to be the most potent tyrosinase inhibitor. It is safe to use and unlike other whitening ingredients, it doesn't burn or sting.
Don't get me OC on tyrosinase! OMG! I did spoke about this in length on my previous post about Snow. But if you want me to light on the discussion.. you neee to focus on tyrosinase-inhibitor ingredients because it will stop you from darkening. And the 7 ingredients above? They are great inhibitors that's you will see immediate results.

So even if you don't pop pills to whiten your skin, it's totally fine. I know breastfeeding moms fidn it iffy to drink anything for fear of affecting their milk.

It's also not sticky or icky which we all hate. There is not a downside (well, except probably the price if you're on budget) to this lotion.

Snow Skin Whitening Lotion | P799

The lotion is my favorite but if you're really looking for an immediate effect, get the cream. The cream is more moisturizing and more potent in my opinion. This is what I use on my trauma area like groin and underarm and it does the job of lightening it. It's not a miracle cream but you can definitely see a difference. Oh! Most importantly, you can use this as a face cream!
Snow Skin Whtiening Cream | Php1,500

It's really not that hard to look for good whitening lotion here in our country. The Philippines is actually brimming in whitening products. But it's nice to see that brands continue to innovate and I'm glad to have come across Snow. I've never been attached to a lotion as much as I am with Snow Skin Whitening Lotion.

It's was a day of celebration when I attended the #GetGlowingwithJergens Event a few weeks ago. My friends and I flocked to Araneta Gateway to enjoy the wonderful time they had in store for us!

Jergen's transformed the middle section of Gateway's second floor to a chic area that engages a lot of us to try and learn new things. There's the Brush Calligraphy table

Just when I thought I'm too insecure... I surprise myself again with finally creating this look for the Vaseline Summer Skin + Style Lookbook Promo. Read on how I summoned the courage to flaunt my skin..

I can be candid when I want to. I'm to used to laughing at myself. Say demeaning things like I'm fat, my legs are like a chicken's and voted mostly to be a Hobbit on Halloween. But not today. Today, I feel good. Okay, I look hot! Hot as the Summer sun, I am! :)

Today I can say to myseld "Guuurrl! You look gorgeous!" Not that the vanity is taking over me but I'm pleased with how I see myself right now. I'm not exactly at the best weight for my height, nor do I have the fairest complexion....but damn, can I work it! (double snap!)

Right on time, too, for Summer! I can't believe how confident I've become in baring my skin this season, wearing not only brighter clothes but also those that compliments and hugs my figure... yes, that includes  lace shorts, summer dresses and sleeveless made with softer and more flowy fabrics.

And not getting scared of tanning or having my skin damaged by the harsh UV rays, is indeed a breakthrough for me this season. But this year I feel like I've missed out on trying newer things. Thinking that I can't pull it off. Like wearing this kind of ensemble and finally creating a look book of my own!

But as the proverbial beauty blogger that I am, I summoned the courage to try it but not forgetting that I need to protect my skin!

This Summer there's Vaseline Healthy White with SPF24 caring for my skin daily. This 3-in-1 lotion has proven to be effective in keeping my skin properly protected from the harsh sun, keeps my skin moisturized and also maintain my skin's fairly fair complexion.

I work in BGC, an area that barely has sheds and I walk a few blocks during lunch time with the sun bearing down on me. I don't care for umbrellas, so I try to make sure I don't skip the sunblock. Knowing how SPF works, I keep a small tube of Vaseline Healthy White SPF24 in my desk drawer and reapply in a few minutes before heading out to my favorite restaurant or meeting up with my friends for lunch.

But considering I spend more hours inside the office, I love how this lotion keeps my soft despite the blasting coldness of the office air conditioner.

Protecting your skin is the easiest way to keep yourself looking young, feeling good and definitely more beautiful. And with the right products, you barely need to make an effort.

I seriously can't believe I just falunted  my legs for the world to see! Lol! Yes, I finally gave in. I'm going to enjoy it and right this moment, I am preparing to head out to Boracay and enjoy a leisurely time under the sun! :)

So, girls! Time to get out of hiding, We don't have to sacrifice to enjoy the great blue skies and the sunny weather just cause we're afraid to tan or look older than our age. Today, we have fun!

Dare to reach out your hand into the darkness, to pull another hand into the light.
- Norman B. Rice.

Don't we all want to make a difference in someone else's life even just a little? Often times though, we find ourselves stopping, doubting if we "dare to help" when we ourselves are pretty much helpless. It's such a typical Filipino attitude to feel sorry for ourselves instead of looking to others and see that we do have more than what we need. That giving back isn't so bad.

I'm guilty of that. I am truly. Perhaps that's the reason why I try to engage this blog in a few giveaways. It's a part of me that wants to give back even just a little, even if the things I giveaway are just simple things that doesn't necessarily change someone's life.

This year is full of challenges for me. A lot of errors have been made and I'd like to believe that I have learned from them. Being on the other side of the fence, I am lucky to have friends and family who continuously lend a helping hand in form of moral support and plain being there for me when the going gets tough. I'm also lucky to always have this blog to help me ease tension and transport me to serene place when ever I sit down and write about a product I find interesting.

Someone told me once that my blog helped them a lot... A mom's friend from elementary days even uses one of my tutorials to practice an everyday makeup look. That touched me a great deal. Who would have thought that a woman like me could help out someone by just writing a few things about a makeup or a look?

But surprisingly, I did. It goes to show that no small things, the good things, go unnoticed. What's important is to always just try and think of others once in awhile. And so know, I continue what I have started and provide you guys with a little bit of help.

I've had the Bobbi Brown Extra Hand Cream for a month now. To be honest, a regular girl like me can do away with a hand cream. Then, I started noticing that my hands are getting a lot drier and blistery. Especially now that I'm getting into nail art and using nail polish remover more than before. I forgot how fragile the hands can get and I just forgot about them.

With the many products that we get to check out, you gotta give it to Bobbi Brown to make an unnecessary product, necessary. Because this tube haven't left my bag since I opened it last week. I'm not sure if it's the scent of shea butter and clary sage or the softness it has given my hands but there's something here.

What to love about Bobbi Brown Extra Hand Cream:
  • Amazing scent
  • Instant thirst of the skin quenched
  • Helps soften dry cuticles
  • Lessens the feel of callouses
  • Whitening (thanks to the licorice extract)
  • Easy to bring along everywhere
  • Ergonomic packaging

To be honest, I hate the feel of hand creams. I like the long term effects but I'm not a fan of having my jittery hands sticky. Thank God, Extra Hand isn't! It absorbs quickly which is a plus. I hate getting products on to my stuff, especially my laptop! Don't you?

Although it doesn't come cheap, Bobbi Brown hand cream is the best hand cream I've tried. And believe me when I say that this is definitely one of the best out there. Worth a couple of thousands that you might have to pay for. The scent is relaxing, the texture is luxurious and it truly cares for the hands.

I'm not gonna bore you with the ingredient list, I suggest that you visit a Bobbi Brown counter and try it for yourself. One quick tip, use only a peanut size (see photo below), that's enough to cover both hands and you'll instantly feel the effect already.

Here's to smoother, healthier and definitely younger looking hands in a few weeks!

Do you use hand creams? If not, let me know so I can check if I'm not alone with the dislike for sticky-icky products. :)

I've got to be honest, I'm not a lotion girl. If I can skip, I would. This has got to be the least thing I like to do when I do my morning my evening routine. But I have tried to be vigilant and consistent with taking care of my body. After all, I'm not getting any younger.

Back in high school and college, I would hoard on Nivea's Whitening Lotion. Especially so when they came out with an evening variant which is a tad more creamier. I am in love with both scents and that's the only reason why I would painstakingly rub it down my body even when I'm already ready to doze of.

But here comes something truly interesting from Nivea, no less. The very first body whitening and repair serum, Nivea Body UV Whitening Cell Repair and Protect Serum SPF 25. A unique product indeed.

So, I included lotion back to my routine and started using this. For the past weeks, I notice that my skin looks lighter and softer (as expected).

Given the potency of this product, containing real Vitamin C, nature extracts, UV filters and Hydra IQ, it's not surprising to see results even just after two weeks of using it. Not too significant but deifnitely something I noticed.

And unlike the Express Hydration lotion, this one gets absorbed easily to skin. Something that I really really need in a lotion since I hate the sticky-icy feel that some lotions have.

Here more about Nivea Body UV Whitening Cell Repair and Protect Serum SPF 25:
(which you'll also find at the back of the tube)
  1. Advanced UVA & UVB cell protection with SPF25 and PA++
  2. Nourishes sun damaged skin
  3. Enriched with Licorice for fairer skin tone
  4. Enhances and supports the skin renewal process
  5. Infused with Hydra IQ and Red Seaweed
  6. Enriched with natural Vitamin C from Camu Camu
  7. Enriched with 95% anti-oxidant pure Vitamin C derivative
  8. Light and non-sticky texture
  9. Gives more radiant and fairer skin tone all over the body
  10. Gives smooth and even skin tone all over the body
  11. Skin compatibility is dermatologically approved

The consistency is very watery, unlike other lotions I've tried. It's easy to spread. Although you might use more than your usually pump or squeeze, at least it's easily absorbed and lives only a faint fruity scent. And the price isn't so bad either for Php219.00 :)

As you all know, I'm a big fan of Nivea and have seen great results from the products. But as always, you've got to try it for yourself to see if this one works for you. So if you're the lotion-iffy girl like me, and wants something not too sticky, expensive and effective.. then go grab yourself a tube of Nivea Body UV Whitening Cell Repair and Protect Serum SPF 25. :)

Oh! And don't forget that this baby has SPF 25 PA ++, good enough protection for everyday use. Like today. I'm meeting up with my beauty blogger friends at Makati and I'm sure the sun will be insistent yet again. :)

Not that I don't care about my feet... I just really don't have the time lately to visit a nail spa. With work piling up and so on and so forth. I sometimes just want to sleep the weekend off or just stay at the office after work than deal with the traffic.

What I didn't know of course was that I had this product lying around for sometime now. So while watching my favorite shows, I try to give my feet some loving with the Sakura Foot and Heel Lotion. It has a nice floral scent to it, absorbs easily and it's affordable. I think this is no more than Php200. Probably, cheaper especially when Watsons on sale.

The only problem I have with Sakura Foot and Heel Lotion is how busy the packaging is. I think toning down the design and making it more classy will get this product more raves. But since we try not to be discriminating and after all, quality over aesthetics is more important, I think this merits a chance from you guys.

What I noticed after weeks of using this? Well, I don't use this every night but my sole seemed softer and has less rough feel to it.

When was the last time you pampered your feet? :)

Just when I thought I know everything about beauty, I learn something more. A week ago, I was part of a rare opportunity to visit Avon Plant at Calamba, Laguna. It's amazing to see how the things we patronize come into form and land in our hands. Especially when it comes to beauty products. I was eager to learn how it's done.

I've always been a curious bee and known to be handy with gadgets and machinery, so things like this is up my alley.

A wall of Avon products will greet upon entering...

For a beauty addict like me, favorites are hard to come by. I like trying new products and yes, sometimes, just for the hell of it. But once Nikki gave me a sample of the orange Yellow Papaya variant of Silka Papaya, I was hooked.

Even with many lotions I keep on checking out and reviewing, I keep coming back to this favorite. Gosh, I don't know why I took this long to share it with you!

I have to admit, I don't like using lotion -- at all! I like how smooth the sheet would feel against my legs and sometimes, lotion can get icky. I admit that our skin needs moisture especially since mine is pretty dry.

But really, those are not the main reasons why I'm sharing this product with you, peeps! It's really not having smoother and whiter skin (although there's those bonus!).

Why do I like it?
It's the scent! It soooo bango! I love the scent like crazy that I crave it! The BF likes it too and people notice it when we beso. I love the scent so much that I use more than that's required. So, I end up using it all up faster! LOL!

Other than that, I love that that its not sticky-icky. Don't you just hate that with lotions?

I don't know if I lightened though since I don't track it my skin's fairness but I'm not getting any dark despite the heat lately. :)

Silka Papaya is so good that when my aunts from the US came to visit, they hoarded the large sizes of the green and yellow papaya variants. I think they bought several bottles. Crazy, right?

Aside from that, my cousin, Frances, uses the green papaya variant and she loves the scent also. But for me, yellow one is FOR THE WIN!!
