Dove Glove Cream - one of the first hand care product from Majolica Majorca.
Clear Coat Nail Polish - to give that glass-like appearance on the nails

ROXY Femme Fling Fashion Day Out

From the looks of this photo, you wouldn't have thought that I spent only a few hours of sleep to make it to the ROXY Femme Fling Event at Nuvali. Given that I didn't want to drive, I hauled my lazy ass off to R.O.X. BHS to join the shuttle going to our destination. Our transportaion was a cool purple and black van with Rockstart written all over it. I'm sure we grabbed so much attention at SLEX.

Waking up early was so worth it once we got to Solenad 2 at Nuvali where lots of stores are finally open! One of which is the main reason for this post, ROXY at Quicksilver.

Beauty Pro Cosmetics at the Moonlit Bazaar | Dec. 3 to 4, 2011

Brigitte, or Jheng as we fondly calls her, is finally fulfilling your dreams and we are all hoping for your support!

When people ask me how I started with blogging, I always say that it's because of my love for makeup and because of the Pinay Beauty bloggers I read online. There's Beautynomics, Askmewhats, SwipeSomeGloss (now Phoebeann.me) and I Am Sutil (now IamBrigitte.com).

Whenever these girls would blog something, it was easy to get persuaded because they show unbiased and real reviews. For Jheng (Brigitte, hereon), shows how these products are done and she makes frequent FOTD's. Brigitte is the reason why I started to play with color makeup, from eyeshadows to eyeliners. She made me realize that blue eyeshadow can look good on me and wingtipping my eyeliner will make my eyes look amaze. If you notice, my technique is almost same as hers.

When I met her during her makeup class, I couldn't help but exclaim! She was real! I often still can't believe that Brigitte has become such a dear friend of mine. And having had the blessing to be with her most of the time, I saw her passion in cosmetic artistry. I saw how the craft calms her. It was peaceful place for her whenever she does makeup on others... And unknown to many, I knew of her dreams to finally create her own cosmetic line!

And now those dreams are finally coming true. But of course, not without your help!

Join us at Moonlit Bazaar, Rockwell Tent on December 03 to 04, 1pm onwards, as Brigitte shares her knowledge and her story on how Beauty Pro Cosmetics came to be. See for your own eyes the sweat and tears that brought you two wonderful palette for all you makeup needs!

And with every purchase, Brigitte will share her time to provide you with beauty tips and tricks, as well as makeover. She'll share how she creates number of looks with the Sweet and Smokey and Crazy Colour Palettes.

If there's one thing I can say about Beauty Pro Cosmetics, it's not about having a business for Brigitte, it's sharing her dreams to everyone who is like her, an average girl who have an incredible love for the art of beauty.

Kerastase Fusio-Dose Ritual | Answer to ALL Hair Troubles

When it comes to hair, there's one brand that never fails to impress me. That brand is Kerastase. The first time I was introduce to this brand was at David's Salon in Sta. Lucia East Mall. My family home was just across it and my mother frequented that branch for her haircut, rebonding and hair coloring. Back then, I had severe dandruff problem. And when they offered my mom to purchase their anti-dandruff line, she bought me the shampoo and conditioner.

It was expensive so my mom asked me to use it properly. Within 5 days of using Kerastase Bain Gommage, my dandruff disappeared like magic. What's great was that it didn't dry out my hair compared to regular mass brand anti-dandruff shampoos.

I didn't know exactly what a prestige brand Kersatase was. What I knew was just it was great! So even when I learned the ropes of taking care of my hair and when I have extra budget, I look to Kerastase for intense hair care. Right now, I use Kerastase Oleo Relax Slim Masque for my rebonded hair, Bain Chroma Rich Masque and Chroma Sensitive for to maintain the color.

But applying them can't be done at one time. What I do is deep contion my hair with the Oleo Relax Slim on Sundays and the Chroma Rich Masque or Chroma Sensitive on Saturdays. It takes a lot of my time for sure since deep conditioning needs about 20 miuntes of more for you to see fabulous results.

It's a good thing that Kersatase came up with a new invention! And they call it Fusio-Dose. It's a first of its kind and it targets everything your hair could possibly need. The idea of Kerastase is to provide the hair with a healing treatment with immediate results.

Fusion of the Concentrate (those in the bottles) and Boosters (Caps with intense ingredients), when combined together creates a tailor-made hair treatment that targets all hair damage.

Kerastase makes it easy to spot your Primary and Secondary need with this ingenious slide tablet.

Fusio dose Primary Need Concentrates and Secondary Need Boosters.

-o-

Now, time for my hair analysis.

Don't you often feel hypochondriac when it comes to your hair? That you often think that you have the driest, worst hair compared to others? I'm like that. With the Kerastase hair analyzer, I discovered that my hair is a somewhat healthy after all. It's dry where it's suppose to be from rebonding and hair coloring, but my hair cuticles aren't as bad as I thought it was! Thank God for nifty gadgets like this!

Given that my hair's primary need is rebonded and colored but incredibly thick and dull from outside stressors, I was recommended Double Nutri-Huile for Instant Nourishment and Softness. Amped it up with  twice the dose of  Ionium + Argine Booster for In-depth nourishment and Polyphenols + Ionium for protection of coloured hair.

Here's a video on how the Primary Need Concentrate and Secondary Need Boosters are mixed.

After everything is mixed together, this is how it looks. Such a tiny but powerful product!

The cap is then replaced with a sprtizer cap and applied to your hair from roots to the tips.

Then, a head massage follows. There's no need for heating or hot machine to infused this treatment on to your hair. It's very safe and really nourishing for your locks. after 20 minutes, your hair is then washed off of the fusio-dose and then you're ready for blow dry.

Immediately, I felt a difference even with my hair wet. It felt lighter lighter and easy to untangle. Having had unmanageable hair for half my life, I know when its behaving...this time it certainly was!

To prep for the blow-dry, Kerastase  Nectar Thermique was applied on my hair to protect it from the heat. This also gives added shine and nbourishment to my hair.

The Result....

Sleek, softer, shinier looking hair.... It's Kerastase. Enough said!

Fusio-Dose ritual starts at Php1500 at David's Salons, depending on your hair thickness and length. And it takes only about an hour. Great to grab one during lunchtime or after work if you don't want to deal with traffic just yet. I suggest not to wash your hair the next day to let the treatment seep into your hair better .

The results are still visible after 7 to 9 washes (5 to 6 if you wash your hair daily). But the dryness of the hair will be forever reduced! Since I use products that targets my hair concerns, along with the Fusio-Dose, my hair looks a lot healthier and softer. No more frizz and tangles. And the weight of my hair certainly lessened that I didn't feel the need to frequently ponytail it.

Will I do this again? Definitely! I love the results. It's like medication for the hair! Think cold medicine and vaporrub in a nifty little bottle but instead of targeting colds, it heals and repairs your hair and provide immediate relief

I don't think I need to convince you that this Kerastase Ritual works. The name alone says everything. Holiday is right around the corner, this is a great time to look your best and give yourself something your hair deserve! :)

I got to meet Laura Charlton, daughter of David of David's Salon. At such a young age, she's very accomplished! She confesses that she's not a natural blonde but her hair is kept soft because of treatments like Fusio-Dose! She even says that we Filipinas have more care for our hair as we frequently get hair treatments done to maintain its softness! :) Yes, Laura, Filipinas take good care of themselves inside and out!

Do you agree with me?

The Makeup Look: MAC Ruby Woo | 1950's Inspiration

Thanks to my gradeschool and lifetime BFF, Cam, I am now a proud owner of not one, but two, MAC Ruby Woo! The best red lipstick ever! But don't fret, MAC Philippines has Ruby Woo in stock for only Php1000 a pop!

Lipstick is something we whip out a lot. We whip it out at public restroom, in our office desk, inside a moving vehicle or even at the dinner. Just like a pair of nice shoes or a fancy bag, lipstick for me is an investment (if not for the color or pigmentation). As much as I like my drugstore brand lipsticks, when I'm out and doing something fancy with the girls or on a date with the BFF (even when in a meeting with the big shots), I make sure that my lipstick is up par, too. A little trick I learned a long time ago to complete your whole look. And really, wouldn't you want something fancy to go on your puckers?

I don't need to have several expensive lipsticks, but if you're a beauty addict like me, then you would know that with an expensive lipstick... you are getting your money's worth!

And the BFF surely did get hers before she got me the ressest lippie that compliments my skin tone! I swear, I'm forever indebted in her for getting me this. :)

As expected, I did a classic neutral to go with MAC Ruby Woo, obviously inspired by the 1950's vintage makeup look. I often wonder how women those days prettify themselves, how they prep up and how they manage to keep their red lisptick from smearing. I wish I could interview someone and ask her about their day and night beautification rituals. If you know anyone, please message me. I'm highly curious, seriously.

Because now, we have all sorts of things like different brushes, long-wearing lipstick, all sorts of foundation and also primers!

Naturally I would use the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey palettes. I love this palette with a vengeance and yes, I totally recommend you getting it. It may be costly compared but like a MAC lipstick, you get your money's worth. It's like only Php120 per eye shadow for this palette!

It has the perfect shades for reviving the 50's look practically right on the dot!

I also used the True Brown eyeshadow of the Sweet & Smokey to define my brows. Then set it with MAC Brow Gel in Girlboy.

I kept it simple for the face but making sure I get an even texture and tone. I've been breaking out a lot due to stress and bad eating habits (shoot me now, please!).

But that's the wonder of makeup! It's the best confidence booster for pimple-ridden girls like me! It instantly masks away all imperfection. With just a few strokes of a brush!

I used Clinique Dermawhite Liquid Foundation for the whole face to help speed up the lightening of my pimple scars. And to diminish the appearnace of my cystic acne, I use The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer. It's a makeup/skincare that helps with acne. Love this a lot!

I am in love with MAC Ruby Woo! I will forever have this in my stash! It's the perfect vivid coral-baser matte red lipstick. Now, there's big reason for me to wear red lisptick everyday.

I encourage you to splurge! Instead of having your daily Lady Starbucks, save them for a nice fancy lipstick! And believe me, the caffeine withdrawal and sacrifice will be worth it!

Don't you think you deserve something fancy, too?

Lipstick Post: NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel

Vacationing was fun but one thing I missed was using makeup. This time around I left my usual paraphernalia's and kept it minimal with a cheek tint, liquid bronzer and face powder. Barely there makeup. It made me miss a lot of my colorful ones at home!

Many have asked what lipstick I used in this review post and I figured it's high time I share it with you!

NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel

Surprise, it's NYX Matte Lisptick in Angel!

I know, it's yet another NYX lipstick. But can you blame me? NYX do have nice selections when it comes to their colored lippies. I was prepared to write off NYX Matte Lipsticks after having my fill with their Soft Matte Lip Creams. Boy I didn't know know I was in for some treat with these.

Compared to the Black Label and their Round Lipsticks, the NYX Matte Lipstick is more pigmented. The shade glides on smoothly. Best of all, it is matte but not too entirely drying on the lips. It was a good thing I didn't close any doors. Had I not been more adventurous with my makeup choices, I would have missed out a lot on this.

But I also noticed is that I don't have an exact shade like this one among my liptstick army. But NYX RL in Spellbound and Colour Collection in Angel Berry came to a close second and third.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel
NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel appears pink on the photos but it has a bit more reddish tint on it and depending on the lighting can appear quite coral.

I notice two things though, that the Matte Lipstick (3.3oz) looks shorter compared to my other bullet lisptick and that it's not as long wearing s claims to be. It takes my next meal or drink for the color to fade a bit. But not the kind of fading that prompts me to retouch asap. Still, I think they can do away with this claim.

Tips:

Although most matte lipsticks I encounter are drying, NYX Matte ones isn't as torturous to the lips compared. Better prep your puckers with your favorite lip balm prior to using. Better yet, prep them already a night before (or do this ritual nightly) to prevent further drying and chapping of the lips.

Make your matte lippies last longer by applying a layer of lipliner similar and closest to the shade of matte lisptick you are using, filling in the lines of your lips.

Take step further in ensuring a matte lips all day long by doing the following. Apply your lipstick 3x but in between, blot excess. This seals in the shades more into your lips.

I also used the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Sweet and Smokey Palette for this classic neutral makeup look. :)

Clinique Lid Smoothie Antioxidant 8-Hour Eye Colour

Clinique Lid Smoothie Antioxidant 8-hour Eye Colour

This small wonder comes from one of our favorite brand, Clinique. It's the Lid Smoothie, a long-wearing, crease-free cream eye shadow that has cooling and anti-aging properties. Quite reminiscent of their Touch Tint for the Eyes but now with added skin care benefits. It's always appreciated when a brand launches a product that has dual purpose. Like I mentioned in my previous post about Clinique makeup, I like that it is skincare first before it is cosmetic.

Becasue the truth of the matter is, good skin starts with a good skin care. Makeup is that little icing on the cake. A sort of accessory we pile in like watch or a necklace.
