Runway Gig at Adidas Originals (Picture Heavy)

I was lucky enough to be a part of Jheng's team for the event of Adidas Originals Anniversary held at Mbassy Club. Thanks, sis!

I mainly did makeup on the boys. They are very easy to work with. Some of them are even chatty that loosened up immediately making my work much easier. The girl I worked on with was very nice. She had such a good disposition and I won't be surprise if they not only hire her for her height and beautiful face but also her character. I'm lucky that she's the first female model I worked on. :)

All I can say is that I'm glad I went despite being so nervous that during the past days.

Diesel Fuel For Life Launching + 1920's inspired look

It was a gloomy tuesday, you think nothing would happen except load of paperworks. But something did. I was lucky enough to get an invite to Diesel's Fuel for Life Unlimited: For Women Only Launching Party at Threesixty Lounge, A. Venue.

The Theme was inspired by Diesel's Fuel for Life France for Women, Roaring 2o's. People were dressed to the nines of 1920's costumes of frills, boa feathers, pearls, ribbons, corsets, fringes and all that jazz. Good-looking men roamed in fedora hats, ties, and garters while they offer to spritz your wrist with Fuel for life. Drinks were flowing much like in a Speak Easy club. The band playing was just fabulous that it felt like I was in a set of Chicago. People were unwinding as the night progressed. The highlight would be the pole dancers who did not only entertain the gentlemen present but even us women. Such a beautiful night to spend with friends.

As always, I try to take this chance to dress up for the event. I had my long hair curled to shorten it in order to make it in a 1920's style. I had to set it with a lot of hairspray since my rebonded hair usually goes back to straight form a few hours after it gets curled.

I was inspired to use my MAC Holiday Palette in Fascinating Ruby, concentrating on the colors Scant, Satin Taupe and Devotion to create that smokey brown look (since I will be wearing a brown high skirt dress) so popular in the 20's. I applied XLH false lashes from the The Face Shop to lift my eyes. Then liberally applied MAC Blacktrack Fluidline to deepen the smokey look.

As for the face, I stippled (using Enkore's technique) using MAC 187 with MUFE HD Foundation 012 to try achieved the pixelized look. Applied my trust worthy concealers from MAC StudioFix Concelaer. Then set it with MAC MSF in Medium Plus. To reduced the washout look, I swooped MAC MSF Redhead LE onto my cheeks. And used the lighter part of MSF Redhead LE to highlight the upper part of my cheeks. I also contoured my cheeks and nose with MAC MSF in Medium Dark to achieve that 1920's sleek look. For the lips, I wanted a burst of color and used Raspberry from Silk Naturals (not offered anymore) and topped in with NYX Lipgloss in Orchid.

It was such a fun night, I was able to meet the fabulous team behind this event as well form new friendship with some of its guest. Mostly, I just enjoyed spending time with my friend J of Mizzmakeup and R of Vanityvibes.

The bar and the band.

J.V. giving her presentation. She looked uber fabulous in her Chicago-inspired dress, hair and makeup. :)

J took this shot of me showing off my newly painted Kawaii nails from Mi and Me Nail Spa Salon in Malate Manila (Beside Tony and Jackey Salon). Behind me was R who was busy chatting up her mom. :)

The beautiful pole dancer of the night who made us take a look and then some.

I christened this table the Beauty Blogger's Boudoir: (R's mom, Tita M), R, me and J.

For keeps: A Picture taken as souvenier to this wonderful event. J, me and JV. :) Don't we all look glam? (the net stocking of course were from KT's Leg Love Collection with City Ladies Stockings)

Here's a closer look. :)

A tuesday that was suppose to be just work then home became an unforgetable rendezvous.

How about you? did you do something exciting on a work week?

much love,
Shen

Diesel Fuel for Life Unlimited: For Women Only

Exciting. Liberating. Sexual. These are three words that comes to mind with Diesel's new perfume for Women, Fuel for life.

It evokes the power of women to seduce and attract any gentlemen that comes her way. It conveys confidence away from all prohibitions. Fuel for life is inspired by the 1920's, best known as the Speak Easy Era wherein people gather secretly for a night of carousing, music and dancing. Women are dared to bare more skin and traditional attitudes. Alcohols were sold secretly and when one is deprived something, we looks for ways to still enjoy it.

Fuel for life brings you back to those times. Letting you relive wild illegal moments, providing you with lust for fun, tearing you away from your ho-hum overdosed work life. As the scent settles in your skin, the more you grow to love it, the more you loosen up for the night. A night you know you deserve.

It looks seriously illegal much like alcohols in the 20's but giving in to the temptation is so much easier.

Diesel Fuel for Life, surprises you with its' top notes of Mandarin, Lemon and Guava. Envelops you with heart notes of Liquorice, Aloe and White Flowers (lily, jasmine, sambac, Indian tuberose). Lulls you with bottom notes of Musk and Sandalwood. Exciting to senses? Wait 'til you take this on a night out with you and your man...or the man you'll soon meet.

No prohibition. Fuel your Life.

Available in 75ml, 50ml and 30ml. Bottle reminiscent of the passed days tinted liquor bottles clothed with gold mesh that feels soft to the skin.

Would you dare?

FOTD: Ellana's New Obsession Blush + Mineral Makeup Epiphany

Sorry, I have been lagging on my blog duties. I was sick for the past week that caused me not to blog properly. Even now, my brain is still ringing from the sneezing and coughing. I've missed all of you and wished that all is well with you guys. :)

-oOo-

Back to blogging...

As promised in my Ellana post about their new blushes, I will be featuring their 4th new shade with an FOTD. I though that it would be a challenge to use to this since the shade is truly intense. Not something an everyday girl like me would wearing all the time.

I had to eat my words, you know. I was surprised on how beautiful this blush looked on my cheeks. And how little I had to use to achieve the effect I want.

Obsession Mineral Blush by Ellana

swatch of Obsession Mineral Blush

Natural Light (sunny 1230 noon)

Used:
Face:
Ellana Make It Last Primer
Ellana Concealer in Revive
Ellana Concealer in Cheer
Ellana Foundation in Hazelnut (Intensive Coverage)
Ellana Blush in Obsession

Eyes:
UDPP
Ellana Multipurpose Eyeshadows in Wish (as eyeliner and eyebrow color)

how it looked when I just applied it. :)

I just tap a little product on the lid, swirled my blush brush and swept it on my cheeks. That was enough to achieve this flushed look. The trick is to use minimal amount of this shade and blend properly. It also stayed the whole time I was out that even when it was time for a facial (around 7pm), it was still visible on my cheeks.

Mineral Makeup Attestation

Show-off moment:
My aesthetician was surprised to see how many dark spots i have after she removed my makeup. She commented that my concealer works great. I told her that I just use mineral make-up and that its just powders. She was more surprised. :) She thought I barely had make-up on! Lol! The derma had to check me the second time as well (when i had no makeup on) to see what treatment I needed since she couldn't decide what to tell the aesthetician because she can't see my all my marks. Hehehe!

I know there was reason I use mineral makeup. And this is why I do. :)

YumYum: Homemade Mini Pizza Pie

It was a lazy hot Saturday, R and I decided to forgo our pets' grooming to the evening since the sun was scorching hot come afternoon.

We decided to prepare the stuff I bought for homemade mini pizza. :)

All we needed were:
1 Sachet of Ready-to-use Pizza Sauce
1 Pack of mini pizza dough (10x, but we ate 8pc only.)
1/2 Quickmelt cheese
4 slices of pre-sliced cheese
5 slices of Spam

Prepare however you like.

I didn't really time the toaster. I just pre-heated it while i was preparing the mini pizzas. Then, popped it in the oven. Really, this is a no-brainer. Even kids can easily do this. :) Just watch out for the oven coz its hot. :)

First batch: Used Quikmelt cheese here. :)

Yum!

Second Batch: Used pre-cliced cheese here. thought it wouldn't taste as good as the first batch but surprisingly, I love this better! The cheese was just right!

love it!!

Reminds me of the Pizza sold in our school before. Remember 3M pizza in Araneta Cubao? It almost have similar taste. :)

Alternative ingredients"
Pizza dough- pan de sal, loaf bread
Pizza sauce- tomato paste, tomato sauce, tomato ketchup
Spam- sausage, sam, or whatever canned meat you have at home

I don't think our meal amounted to P300.00. Beats ordering in. :)

Bon Appetit!

Burp!
(excuse me!)

much love,
Shen

Haul: Coastalscents' 66 Color Lip Palette (with initial review)

When I first saw this on blogger friend, Jheng of abubots, I've been lemming for this.
Thanks to Khymm, I was able to get my grubby hands on this palette finally.

look, Khymm even added samples to my purchase. :) how sweet! thanks!

the matte black casing really looks professional for anybody's use.

most colors are really usable, while some are great for makeup artist's use.

a proper pic for everyone (click to view larger version)

comparison to a 5g jar

I find the amount limiting but I don't think that it will be a problem since it will be mainly for personal use. Using the palette is hygenic for I would need to use a brush or a cotton swab. Such a great practice for me especially when I do pursue my dreams of becoming a professional make-up artist.

Here are some pictures taken on a natural light (noon):

violet lip color, applied sparingly (3rd color, last column)

yes, i was curious on how it would actually look like. lol! (5th color, 4th column)

I love this kind of pink! (2nd color, 6th column)

bright orange! (4th color, 8th column)

With these swatches, I agree that the lip colors are indeed pigmented. And that makes this purchase worthwhile. :)

Thanks Khymm, for letting go one of your palettes to me. :)

So, will purchase again? Definitely! If nobody sells this in my country I'll definitely bear the waiting (coz our PO is so slow) and purchase through Coastalscents. :)... and maybe get me the complete collection of their gel liners. lol!

But if you have trouble waiting, check out Khymm's site, she still have more palettes for sale (88 e/s, neutral palette and 66 lip colors)

much love,
Shen
