For the Guys: Diamonds for Men by Emporio Armani

I've been thinking of returning some loving to my man through my randoms gifts. It's my turn to spoil the BF who's been very understanding of my mood swings and laziness in household chores. But what to get a guy who wants nothing for thinking he has everything he want and need?

When I got this email about Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men, it hit me... The BF's eu de toilette is running low, why not give him a new scent to try? Having Josh Harnett as the face of Diamonds for Men upped the appeal for me since I've adorned him ever since. Besides, his eyes reminds me of R. (Happy) Sigh...

thanks to Giorgio Armani UK site for the photo.

"A luminous, daringly full-bodied opening. The refined, radiant freshness of the Italian citrus-bergamot accord is enlivened by a vibrant, electric burst of Szechuan Pepper.

The interpretation of an irresistible, solid diamond. With its recessed facets along the side, the luminous square of glass plays with rays of light, reflecting them from within in infinite configurations like a modern kaleidoscope. A streamlined, powerful, faceted object. Set firmly on its base, featuring an integrated shiny metal spraycap adorned with the famous eagle emblem." - Giorgio Armani US website

The BF would probably say that he doesn't need a new cologne... But guys doesn't always know what's best for them, right?

And we mean to get our men only the best.

much love,

Kung Hei Fat Choi + Update

Kung Hei Fat Choi!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!

It's year of the OX!!!

I'm hoping for a stampede of fortune for everyone!

I've got so much to post but for some reason I'm having a hard time uploading pics... booohooo!!

So sorry!

I've missed all of you!!!

Just a bit of personal/shopping blog worthy of writing about..

The BF and I went out for a date (our 1st official one since we moved in together to our new place). We saw the movie Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (cool enough but not seeing Kate so much in it was a bummer for me). I really felt so good being with the BF again on a date since its the work+moving in+businees+family stuff was just overwhelming me for the past week. I missed being with him like that, just the two of us enjoying a flick and pig outs.

As for the shopping part, I both a few shirts at BAYO, i shouldn't have but I met an accident with an ice tea so i had to change my top. I exchanged my globe visibility from prepaid to postpaid (so i don't get frustrated when I ran out of load) and applied Smartbro for the office.

The BF checked out TOBY's (a sporting goods store), he bought a basketball so he can start making use of the court just outside our building. I was feeling a bit generouse so I bought him the latest AND1 rubbershoes. I wouldn't know what style it is but it looks cool. The BF got some taste, I tell yah. I'm glad that I had a chance to splurge on him as much as he does on me.

Of course, I also splursed on MOI!! I got me a pair of sandals at Celines and some MAC stuff. I finally got the smokey palette from Red She Said Collection as well as MAC eyebrushes in 239 and another 217 and lastly, Studio Fix Concealer in NC35. I also got the Dr. Bronner's Liquid Soap in Lavander variant and some unsalted Pumpkin Seeds at Healthy Options. Phew! My wallet was screaming like crazy after that...

Ohhh!! I finally got to buy the Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice by Del Monte at Rustan's FreshMarket. it's about P300 for 1 liter. I got two for me and the BF. :) It was a bit expensive but who has time to squeeze fresh orange juice in the morning? I certainly don't! I barely have time to prep up everyday for work. :) LOL!

I'm now eyeing the HP Mini notebook at EHub. I so want it after it was demoed to a customer. I was just buying a webcam for one of my offices and i saw it.. but still, my heart is set on HTC Diamond Phone... So many wants!!!

Well, we gotta have goals, rights? :)

It was such a restful weekend for me and I hope it ws for you, too. :) Now, let's all get back to works or to our books (Sab, I'm talking about you!). Next weekend, let's see each other at Nikki's Seminar-for-a-cause, aight???

til next blog (w/pictures I hope!)!

much love,

Product Review: Embodyment Organic Body Butter

My skin for weeks now have been raving over the Embodyment Body Butter in almost all their variants. The cold season of late was making my skin tight and dry and its not a good feeling. An ample amount of this body butter can ease the dryness off of my skin making it supple and soft... The sweet smelling scent keeps the BF on a hug-mode all the time. Even my dog can't help but sniff his mom's well taken care skin.

I particularly enjoy Lavender and White Tea, the relaxing scent keeps me rested in bed that getting Zzzz are much more enjoyable than just a process to the day. I love sleeping so anything that can aid to peaceful night will be on my list.

The Avocado and Honeydew is definitely a must-try to the fruit lovers. I'm not much of a fan fruit flavors but this one made me a convert. It's not sickeningly sweet like some that I've tried and the smells lasts forever. R enjoyed this scent so much.

The Green Tea Mint has a refreshing sent with a cool bite. Great time to use this now since the cold days are nearing its end. The tinggly sensation keeps me cool under the afternoon sun.

The Olive is something for the mature ladies, but even I not near my 40's love this. I gave 50ml's to my aunts and they are enjoying it as much as I do. This reminds me of The Body Shop Olive Dry Oil Mist but defintinately more moisturizing. :) A keeper in my opinion.

The Goat's Milk and Vanilla is my favorite from all of these variants. And this is from a person who doesn't like Vanilla at all. I love everything about this, the scent, the rich moisturizing effect and how easily it glides onto my skin.

There are two or more variants available but I've overlooked jotting them down. But those I will likely try as well since I've enjoyed all of the variants I've bought.

One more thing I like about this is the price:
100g is only P250.00 (Buy 4 + 1 Free)
50g is only P150.00 (Buy 6 + 1 Free)

Surely much affordable compared to the others that I've tried.

Truth be told, one of my dreams is to create my own line of Skin Care Products.
I do hope someday I will be able to make such dream into reality.
But for now, I am enjoying a Pinay-made affordable organic products.

much love,

More Embodyment product reviews to come!

Sorry! - price of Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap

I have a big apology to make. I wrong with the Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Organic Soap. The 236ml is P429.00. I deeply sorry for the confusion I caused. I still find it cheaper since you won't use so much of it when cleaning your brushes. I do hope you'll have the heart to forgive me... :) I must have exchanged the prices of the 3 products I bought... :)

I promise no mishap like this will happen again. :) LOL!

Product Review: Dr. Bronner's Organic Soap PURE-CASTILE SOAP as brush cleaner

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps

I've been on a look out for a good brush cleaner for a while now. Expensive brush cleaner like Beauty Bar's, Smashbox and MAC are always a good choice, I can't help but feel bad with the amount I shell out for it every time. While baby shampoo works well enough, I still am not satisfied with the scent and how much product I have to use especially on my synthetic brushes.

I'm glad that while browsing a Healthy Options Store, I saw Dr. Bronner's Organic Soaps in Tea Tree variant for about less than P200, i couldn't find my receipt. I am not surprise that Robyn of Purely Cosmetics recommends and sells this on her Mineral cosmetic online shop. It really goes the job! And smells fabulously clean! I'm so happy I found this soap!

Tea Tree Variant was described on the Dr. Bronner's Site as:

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic that helps heal cuts and bruises as well as skin conditions like acne dermatitis and psoriasis. All oils and essential oils are certified organic to the National Organic Standards Program. Packaged in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.

Water, Saponfied Organic Coconut Oil*, Saponified Organic Olive Oil*, Organic Glycerin, Organic Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Melaleuca Altenafolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Tocopherol (* Certified Fair Trade by IMO)

What Dr. Bronner Site says:

  • Completely Biodegradable and Vegetable-Based
  • Made with Certified Fair Trade and Organic Oils
  • Multi-Purpose: 18-in-1 Uses
  • No Synthetic Foaming Agents, Thickeners or Preservatives
  • 100% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Cylinder Bottles and Paper Labels
  • Simple, Ecological Formulations Based on Old-World Quality and Expertise
  • #1-Selling Natural Brand of Soaps in North America

Let me sight by brushes why I love and rave about this organic soap:

1. Concealer Brushes - I use Ecotools, MAC, Ellana and Charm Pro concealer brush alternately. The accumulation of concealer product on these hardworking brushes are just a trial to take off with simple baby shampoo. With Dr. Bronner's Organic Soap, a tiny tiny amount instantly removes ALL traces of concealer. I could literraly see the product coming right off.

2. Buffer Brushes/Kabuki Brushes - With a tiny amount, my buffer brushes lathers beautifully. My BareNaturals Flat top brush looks brand new because there are left over stain on the tips un like in my other products that I use. It is also a trial for me to get rid of all excess product from Ellana Buffer Brush since it is so big but with this soap, it instanly cleans this brush. And My Charm Pink Kabuki is softer than ever! :)

3. Stippling Brushes - I've been using Lumiere and Charm Duo Fibre Brushes with liquid foundations. Most of the time, there are stains left on the white part of the brushes. Now, there are none! My 8 month old lumiere duo fibres looks like new!

4. Eyeshadow brushes - I can clean them 2 or 3 brushes at a time! My MAC 217 brush is white again!

5. Blush Brushes - Some blushes leaves stains on my Essence of Beauty blush brush and Charm Pro. Now, I only see white hairs on my brushes. They never looked so clean before. :) LOL!

6. Eyeliner Brush - WOW! No trouble at all getting rid of my stubborn gel liners. My Ecootool eyeliner brush is yes.... again, looking like new!

I'm Glad to have found this in Tea tree variant. Cleaning my brushes is now never an ordeal! (I sound so like an infomercial! lol!) I am now looking for time to wash by brushes instead of staying away from it from what use to be a chore. I even clean my palettes and bowls with this soap!

How I use it:
With clean hands, simply transfer a few drops of Dr. Bronner's Organic Soap into a container (believe me you won't use a lot!). Wet your brushes in water or separate cup. Dip your brush with just enough amount of the soap to clean it. Rub the brush softly onto your palms in a back and forth motion. Watch as the products wash away from the brushes. Rinse brushes and let it dry.

Simple huh? Squeeky clean brushes with the great smelling scent of Tea Tree. :)

What else do I love about this soap? The inspriring quotes written all over the package. Also, there are instrcutions on how to use this soap with saving water in the process. :) What a thrill!

Ellana Mineral Liquid Lip Color

I think most of us were once a girl fiddling with our mommy's lipstick, giddy with the experience to try it on our baby lips. But of course, mom always says no. She'll always say "When you're a grown up, you'll get to wear one someday." Most definitely, mom will do anything to maintain our young supple baby lips and away from chemicals of lip products.

Thankfully, we don't need to subject ourselves to such chemicals all the time. Of late, cosmetic manufacturers have been conscious of the ingredients they put in their lip products. Before lipsticks are just a way to give color to the puckers. Now, its a whole different story.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics introduced their new lip product, the Liquid Lip Color. A chemical-free lip product that provides color and shine to our lovely smooches. It comes in seven shades that will definitely suit us Filipinas as well as its international consumers.

"Light on the lips and non-sticky, it imparts a subtle shine bursting with color and sheer shimmer. Contains no petroleum." - Ellana briefly and concisely explains their Liquid Lip Color.

EOTD: Beauty and Minerals Smokey Eyes set

One of my first purchase at the St. James Bazaar way back last December is this trio stackable jar of Beauty and Minerals set. :) Phoebe have numerously raved about the Monave Sabotage multi-purpose mineral shadow. This gun metal shade moved me to purchase this set. :)

Beauty and Minerals Monave Eyeshadows

SM White, Hypnotic, Sabotage

How I did this look:
apply HYPNOTIC all over the lid, just beneath above crease.
Then follow with Sabotage (using 217), shape your outer crease moving to the mid crease.
Apply SM WHITE as brow hignlight while blending out harshlines created on your crease area.
Apply SABOTAGE on outer lower lashline meetin with the outer lid
Re-apply eyeshadows if needed.
Blend! Blend! Blend!

Apply your favorite eyeliner and lengthening/volumizing mascara.
Waterline to complete smokey look.
Add flasies for dramatic effect.
