Wondering which neutral palette to get? As your resident beauty addict, I had to take a closer look at these palettes Revlon just recently launched here in Manila, the ColorStay Not Just Nudes Palettes.
Oh boy, do I have many of these!
But it's definitely Lorac Pro and Urban Decay Naked 3 are the two that gets my attention every single time and yet I have always managed to talk myself out of buying it. It's those products that are just sitting, waiting on my online chart.
I always read reviews, look at sales and check out looks created with these palettes. I think I even salivate whenever I see these online. And yet I can't bring myself to buy them. Here are just some of the reasons why:
One, because I have way too many neutral palettes on hand. Some I even barely use, some I haven't opened yet. I think it's not fair for me to purchase another before I even put a dent on what I already have.
Second, I'm scared that I'd get disappointed. Although I've seen a lot of rave reviews from many beauty bloggers, vlogger, and gurus, seeing some negative ones cause me to put purchasing them on hold. You know that feeling? How much the negative reviews, no matter how minimal they are, weighs a lot on your decision to buy it or not.
Third, I can't justify pre-ordering or buying it from an online shop in such an inflated price when it's actually quite affordable in the US.
So, what about you? Ever experienced the same thing?
Share them with me by commenting below. I'd love to know which product you're apprehensive in purchasing.

Welcome to my annual announcements of favorites. But this time, I will share them with you one by one to give them the proper accolade instead of just a mention. :)
One reaches and receives this award when a singular criteria has been met.
When I've used it frequently.
I think that that's the best way to say if a product is indeed a favorite and well-worth the mention. As a beauty blogger who gets to try a lot of things, this is one great time that I get to share to you what I think is worth your money since I have really tested the product well.
And on the top of the ranks in my option is the Beauty Pro Cosmetics Eye shadow Palettes.
First off, Beauty Pro Cosmetics Palettes are for every aspiring makeup artists. It has amazing pigmentation, staying power, encased in an ergonomic faux-leather that doesn't take up too much space. Built with every woman in mind, another great thing about this palette is its creator, Brigitte Santos. A blogger turned makeup artist, she finally took steps to realize her dreams of making her own cosmetic brand. She believes that with Beauty Pro Cosmetics, everyone can be a makeup artist. And I agree.
Palettes is certainly one of my favorite things when it comes to makeup. Acquiring my very first one made blogging about beauty seems more legit. But learning to differentiate the best from the duds, now that took a lot of practice. Now, I spend for my palettes. I make sure to get the best. There's nothing like knowing you made the right choice and knowing that your money didn't go to waste. Beauty Pro Cosmetics, is definitely a worthy indulgence.
Hmm.. I'm sounding like a beauty queen contestant! Must be from recent Ms. Universe. Indulge me, alright?
Available at Digital Traincase.
P.S. This palette is fast moving and are al nearly out of stock, so if your have extra aguinaldo from Christmas, I suggest snagging this immediately.
It's one of them days that I can't help but just share photos and leave you to your imagination with the new toy that I got.
Thanks to Shu Uemura Philippines for giving me one of the palattes from the Art of Beauty Collection for Fall 2012, Chocolat Donna. The palette's "flavour" is definitely right up my alley. I love mint and I love dark chocolate.
Let me gush over the beautiful packaging, first. It looks incredibly like an expensive bar of dark choclate, designed with edible gold syrup. It's amazing what the team of Shu Uemura comes up with evertime they realease a collection. Chocolat-Donna is inspired by the sweetness of chocolates and the beautiful memories often associate with it. Although I am not a big fun of this popular dessert, I love what is it trying to convey.
Personally, they got on the packaging alone... I was besotted. What's great pa is that you can reuse the palette since you can take out the eyeshadow. Good thing coz I have other shu umuera products that would look great housed in this gorgeous chocolate-inspired container. :)
Mint and Vanilla Palette
What you'll have here is a 6
eyeshadow palette. Two that is glittery and the rest matte and lovely.
The Gold and Mint shades contains a lot of glitters that tend to go all
over when applied. Apply this wet though and you'll be amazed with the pigmentation. Nice to top it off with the other shades. Think of this as sugar sprinkles.
The rest of the shades, like I said, are matte. I love the light yellow eyeshadow as it makes a great base and highlight color. The rest are different tones of brown that goes on smoothly when applied. The gold decorated on top of the two brow eyeshadow are overspray and will disappear after first use. Sad, actually but that it's just a mere design.I love the second to the last shade. It's a warm brown that I can used to fake a natural crease. But if you want a more natural look, the lightest shade of brown will be better. The darkest color though makes a mean smokey eyes.
As always, here are the swatches. :)
What do you think? Do you think it's a palette worth picking up or would you wait for other collections from Shu this year. They will also come out with a Karl Lagerfeld collection. A collection, I'm sure a lot fashionistas will go for. :)

So sorry, ladies! It's been awhile since my last post. Last week was a frenzy with the rush preparation for Blogger's United Summer Bazaar at Grand Events Place Makati and of course, work. I can't even begin to tell what a tiring week it has been! But I'm thankful for the blessings and thankful for all the support and love you gave me during the bazaar.
And thank you for still checking my blog! :)
But I wasn't too tired to get some reviews done. I've got so many that I don't know how to schedule anymore. I need help. Lol!
Now, what I got here is the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye shadow Palette in Adventurous.
Revlon.com describes it as:
- All day luxurious color that doesn't crease, fade or smudge.
- Rich, velvety shadows blend smoothly and effortlessly.
Now, does it stay true to what it says?
The good thing about palettes like this is that it takes
away the guessing of how to match your eye shadows with one another. It even
comes with an instruction on how to apply them at the back of the packaging. What I think
However, being an eye shadow junkie who is quite spoiled
with pigmentation and blendability, the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow
fell short of my expectation. Compared to their previous eye shadow palettes,
these ones didn’t have the impact I was expecting. But I wouldn't call them a dud either. I think you just really have to test these first and really check out which ones are the best for you.
Personally, I think what I got right here are the ones with best pigmentation. Is it blendable? Yes but not as compared to my other eye shadow palettes.

Adventurous is not really as adventurous as the name suggest. Actually it's bordering neutral. Get this is you want an easy smokey eyes. The shades as you can see really shows up on my skin.

Serene has really cool blue tones that would make for a great spring to summer makeup look. The darkest shade contains glitters that are just a bit too chunky. The rest are matte and really easy to blend.
Precious is my favorite since purple eye makeup is easiest to create and really compliments our skin tone. This palette also has amazing pigmentation (although a bit chalky) and easiest to play around with
What I love about the Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eyshadow...
- Some eye shadows are pigmented enough.
- Comes in wide array of choices from neutrals to bright eye shadows
- Easy to create makeup looks
- Compact and easy to lug around packaging.
- Affordable enough at Php550.00 each palette.
- Impressive staying power.
What I don’t...
- Some eye shadows are too sheer to show on my skin
- Some eyeshadow tend to become powdery
- Prone to fall outs (although it’s easy to brush it off, it doesn’t stain)
Overall, better test out first before buying and make sure to check out other Revlon palettes first. I like their singles and their rectangular eyeshadows. If you can get a hold of the cream ones, those are good two. With the 16 Hour, I would suggest getting Precious and Adventurous, these two are colors that you can really play around with no matter the occasion.

It's finally here! The Beauty Pro Cosmetics is now out and ready to make your makeup dreams come true!
I've been playing with these shadows for days already, maximizing its use and ensuring that it is really up par, if not surpassing, other makeup palettes out there. And it has! It being carefully handpicked by Brigitte, who we know is a true blue makeup addict, I was quite confident that I have everything I need in her palettes.
The Sweet and Smokey Palette is one of the most unique eye shadows palettes I've seen. Just cause it's more than a neutral or bridal palettes that I'm used to. It's just amazing, no words at all. I just love this palette!

I love this look... I think when I get married, I would want a look similar to this one. It looks so fresh and pristine.
The Sweet and Smokey palette is actually Beauty Pro Cosmetics' neutral/bridal palette. But it's amazing how it differs from other palettes I've seen. I love how it has unexpected shades like purples and soft golds and coppers and not just beige and browns.
I'm so happy to have this palette in my stash! :) Really really amazingly happy! :)
If you want a Sweet and Smokey palette of your own, you can get them at the Mommy Mundo Bazaar on Novemeber 19-20, 2011 at the Rockwell Tent!
It's also available at Digital Traincase Multiply Shop! :) Free Shipping, too!
