Do you remember those porcelain dolls we use to play with when we were young? The ones that closes their eyes when we put them to bed? Their lashes ever-so long, shiny and curled to perfection. I use to want lashes like that. I didn't know then how easily we can have lashes like those because of makeup!

Lancome is known for its fabulous mascara... one of those that made waves in the beauty community is Hypnose for giving magnified long lashes, considered HG mascara for many beauty bloggers and gurus in the US. Then there's the Hypnose Precious Cells, Lancome's first mascara that helps regenerate lashes.

And now they just came up with a new Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara for those who want dolly looking lashes. It promises to reinvent separated, thick, long, "nylon-shine  with the exclusively developed FiberShine formula and a new hyrid cone-shaped brush ! Packaged in a  sinuous shiny black tube embellished with roses, the symbolic flower of Lancome, this mascara is going to give you volumized, extended, lash look.

In other words, prepare to look real live doll.... naturally!

Seeing Michelle Phan's video about this mascara a few weeks back made me consider getting this . I love how they look as if they didn't need to use false lashes to create the cute, sexy and romantic look. What intrigued me most was the triangular brush wand. I thought that it could reach my inner lashes without any trouble at all. As much my lashes are long, the inner hairs are too thin and sparse, it's sad!

Great thing I was sent the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara to try. It's true, this mascara is too sexy for words. I do love the packaging. It's so luxe that it clearly stood out among my other mascaras. Even the BF didn't have trouble figuring out this was expensive! He who think violent and pink lipsticks are the same. (insert giggle here)

You would imagine that a wand like this is a dime a dozen and I thought I have something similar in my stash but surprisingly, I don't. This hybrid cone-shape brush makes it easy for me to reach my inner lashes, both upper and lower. Coating my lower lashes is also easier with this mascara making my eyes appear wide awake and quite doll-like.

See how pointed the tip is? That tip makes applying mascara easier even those with lashes that are really short and stubbornly straight.

What you'll like about the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara is the fact that it is a great fit for whatever lash type you have.

If you have long lashes, you'll see it thicken and separated.
If it short, you'll notice that this mascara will lengthen it.
If it's too thin, it will volumize it.

Thanks to the Eye Beauty Index that Lancome came up with after researching on how women sees their lashes.

Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara | Php1895

So, did I like this mascara?

Yup! Most certainly do!

As most of you know I already have quite long but thin and straight lashes. I need to curl them every time before applying mascara.

As most new mascara go, using it the first time might be a hit or miss. I noticed that with Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara the formula deem to be creamier compared to the usual dry formula I was used to from Lancome. Applying it was so easy but it made me feel as if I wasn't coating my lashes as properly as I should.

Reading reviews online, letting for the formula to dry a bit will make this product better and give that true volumized lashes. But already, even if it was too liquid-y for my taste, I am quite satisfied with the result.

And oh! This is the only mascara I own that's scented... it has that floral scent to it that makes me run after the scent every time I swipe my lashes with the Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara.

Just check the photos below.

What I love..

  • It lenghtens, it curls and it volumizes my lashes!
  • Hybrid cone-shaped brush makes it easier for me to reach inner corners of my lashes
  • It separates my lashes really well and give me a wide open eye look.
  • Clump-free!
  • Gives my lashes that patent-effect I've always wanted!
  • I love the floral scent!
  • Easy to remove
  • Doesn't way down my lashes
  • lashes still feels light even with this mascara on.

What I don't...

  • It isn't waterproof or sweat-proof. I notice this because of how easy it is to remove.
  • But fortunately, I am not experiencing panda eyes with this mascara even with my oily lids.
  • It's quite pricey for Php1,985.
Will I purchase this?

Yup! Now that I got to try it and saw how well it delivers its promise, I think i deserve a high end mascara that I can bring me all the time.

Remember, a bit of mascara have a way of defining your eyes and making it appear more wide awake.

I recommend this to those with droopy eyelids like mine! Let's stop looking sleepy all the time just because of our eye shape. A bit of curl, mascara and a touch of concealer is all we need to look le fabuleux!!

During the Facebook and Twitter Fans Day of Garnier Philippines, the question of whether one had to suffer from pimples was answered.

Garnier gathered it's facebook and twitter loyal fans for day of fun activities, to introduce their new great products and of course, but to the surprise of many (myself included), to meet Georgina Wilson, their latest product endorser.

I once worked with Georgina Wilson at the Topshop event I handled but I'm sure she barely remembered me. it was nice seeing that flawless, smiling face again. The girl lights up the room. She is so humble! She engaged the audience which i find really charming as everyone got so giddy with her interviews and all. She's super adorable and even in flats, she towers everyone!

I think Garnier really made the right choice in choosing her for the the new Garnier Pure Active line. Georgina shares that she herself have had pimples and have done everything to get rid it. Even now, she still tackles the big bad red zit.

Fortunately, there are products out there to help us get rid of our problems. Garnier introduced their weapon against the 6 signs of skin problems which are usually associated with acne: pimples, oiliness, whiteheads and blackheads, enlarged pore and unevenness of skin tone.

Garnier Philippines makes it easier for us to combat these dilemmas without having to pay for so much with Garnier Pure Active Multi-action Facial Scrub and Anti-Imperfections Cooling Roll-on.

Why should you try this?

It has the highest content of Salicylic Acid (2%) allowed for over the counter products. Salicylic Acid or Beta Hydroxy Acid is the best (in my honest opinion) as an anti-bacterial properties that is great for enlarged pores and oiliness!

And Herba Repair, derived from blueberry which has a regenerating and repairing properties to reduce skin dullness.

Everything that you need to control and heal pimples are available in the Garnier Pure Active products. For me, I think anything with Salicylic Acid is certainly worth trying especially if you are dealing with so much pimples.

Here are some photos I took of the event:

Garnier Philippines Team! I do love their jacket!

What to know more about the Facebook and Twitter fans day, check out the video! Hmm... can you spot me and Nikki?

I super enjoyed the fans day. I've been a fan of Garnier since it came here to the Philippines and to meet people who have the same love as I do for the brand is so overwhelming. Thanks Garnier for inviting me. I really appreciate the fun activities, meeting Georgina Wilson, the super great food and of course, for my new Garnier Pure Active products.

Must try: Pure Active Anti-impressions Cooling Roll-on. it just a few tries, I've proven this wand works! It dries pimples immediately (depending on how worst your pimple is). Mine took 2 to 3 days to dry up!

Must try: A refreshing scrub from Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Scrub. I love that the beads aren't harsh. Lather on your hands the product first before you wash your face. This makes the scrub more foamy and helps with removing more impurities and oil!

Take care!

I am amazed by all your entries in the Fashion Mayday | Win A Pair of Ferretti Shoes Contest, Sponsored by Ferretti!

...and how well you got my style. I love that everyone partnered this satchel bag with gold accessories! I just love gold! That is why this bag is so perfect for me. The gold hardware matches ALL of my accessories that mix and matching is no trouble at all!

But the one that took my breathe away and made me mouth "wow!" is

....Argie's styling!

Here's how she styled my Ferretti Satchel,
"I'd love to see you in this frock below. I wouldn't want to take out the denim perspective because I know how good you look in jeans.
For your day/work look, you can be chic and comfy with this untucked cream pleated shirt with its sleeves rolled up near the elbows.  Don a scarf bearing this year's color, tango tangerine; be comfy with strappy coral flats; and tote the Ferretti satchel as is and you're good to go.
For a dinner date, slip into a dual-toned heels and get the scarf off your neck. It's the bag's chance to go tangerine while you accessorize with statement black pieces. It would be nice to tuck the shirt in and wear a skinny navy blue belt to dress up the jeans."

What I like about this styling is that she makes me want to wear jeans again!

She was quite spot on how I want to maximize the bag and my outfit. And even if it got nothing to do with this year's lucky color, coral or orange is one of may favorite hues. But I just didn't know how to incorporate it in my outfit. And all those golden accessories just scream Carrie Bradshaw! The shawl have that hint of Blair while the bag with the pumps is definitely a bridge between Carrie and Charlotte.

This whole styling makes me want to search the nearest mall for something similar! As much as I love my dresses and neutral outfits, Argie's risks paid off quite well.

I will be on a hunt for these selections and hope I can show you guys how it will look on me IRL!

Congratulation Argie of HerRoyalBleakness!!

I will contact you via e-mail with regards on how to claim your prize!

I take it that FHM Philippines didn't do research for their March 2012 cover in coloring models in black/brown paint, letting a snow white Bela Padilla pose with them and how this can cause major racial issues in our very much conservative Filipino society.

But then again, they are not the first!

Photos credit to: StylePopCrunch.com

Although the concept is different.. the message that came across was similar.

In the October 2009 Issue of French Vogue, they got a serious beating from everyone by covering the usual pale models (Lara Stone in the photos above) in black painting. It was called the controversial "Black Face" earning comments that they were "culturally insensitive" and "tactless". And who wouldn't agree, right? Why not hire a black model instead. As if there's a scarcity in that.

Same with FHM, seemingly wanting show that Bella Padilla has stepped out of the shadows and now taking on the life she is meant live. But cast the "shadow" as women who have dark skin is obviously racial. Was there no other creative way to represent shadows in her life.

This isn't a cover that is "much ado about nothing". These magazines are sold in bookstores, convenience store and places children can easily get to see them. Young impressionable kids who have dark skin may think they are not worthy enough if they don't have lighter skin.

Well, let me tell you that you're worth it! No matter what skin color you are, fair, medium or dark, you get a chance in this world. It only depends on how you see yourself. Your skin is not a hindrance in achieving whatever goal you have. Our skin color doesn't define who we are same as what people think about it.

There is a difference in enhancing or improving your skin from completely changing your physique to please society.

And I'm not a hypocrite and tell you that I'm not a fan of whitening. I am! But only to an extent that I think I need to. I am as comfortable in my skin as I am in my "pambahay." You don't have to care what everyone have to say.

Confidence doesn't come in makeup, soap, or a bottle. It comes from within... if only you'll allow to see the real marvelous YOU!

I know I'm late in the NYX Xtreme Lip Cream bandwagon but I don't care. I'm so glad I spotted them at Digital Traincase booth at the Cosmetologie Event last Wednesday!

They are amazing! Very pigmented, easy to apply and totally worth the Php290 I paid for each of them! Best of all, they last quite long on the lips!
NYX Xtreme Lip Creme from Digital Traincase | Php290

Another great find from NYX through Digital Traincase. I love DT, they have a physical store, joins numerous bazaars and a facebook and multiply account! Getting that NYX fix is so easy with them!

I was tempted to get all all shades but I can't. I just couldn't justify it given that I have so many lippies at home! Hmm.. maybe next pay day I can get the two red shades I'm lemming for!

But for the meantime, here's my haul!

Poco Deli

Last Friday, my boss and office mates bade farewell to our old office.  In less than two months, I have come to love my cubicle, the ray of sunlight the shines on me every morning, the friendly sari-sari store we patronize and the free parking space! Hahaha!

But  I am equally excited to see our new space in Bonifacio Global City and meet the rest of the people in the company. Besides, it's way geasier for me to meet up with friends now since BGC is the center of the night life in Manila right now!

With that, we thought to eat out for lunch to somewhat mourn and celebrate our leaving Ortigas. When one of our boss asked where we should eat, I suggested that we go to Poco Deli. It's a quaint Spanish style restaurant that serves amazing pasta, entrees and my favorite, cake and sausages! I've only eaten at this restaurant once and it was memorable, both food and company! I wanted to repeat the experience that's why i wanted to go back. :)

Poco Deli is located quite near our office at East Kapitolyo Drive, Pasig. I can't tell you enough how nostalgic driving around Brgy. Kapitolyo for me is as I've lived there with R and his most of my lawschool years. East Kapitolyo have grown since I've been there. There were more restos that I think R and I would have loved going to. This made me feel more disappointed that I'm moving further away from this strip. Sniff...

But enough about that.. let's get on with the fun post! Be ready for some major food-gasm. :)

Lookee what they did to the wine caps. How pretty!

small bottle of chardonnay and merlot. yum!

Cakes and sausages... two favorite words!

Affordable but quality wine selection. Owner said to try Fat Bastard when I go back. :)

Further inside, there are more seats available...

Bar

Ala Cantina style interiors.. love the wood table! I want it actually!

More drinks!

Lovely paintings of what seems to be a Spanish countryside

I am loving everything about this resto...

Citrus Delight, Php120

There are only a few restaurants that can make me NOT order Coke. Coca-cola is the drink of my life. But this time around, I chose Citrus Delight over! It's so refreshing! One of the best drinks ever!

German Sausage and Cheese Platter, Php300
This platter is one of my favorite. Their sausages are always a treat, tasty meaty and juicy. I just hope the cheese serving is more generous. I would seriously go back to Poco Deli for their meat and cheese platter alone.

Bacon Slabs with Egg and Bacon Rice, Php280
This is my order and it taste as sinful as it looks! It is like meat orgasm in your mouth. The bacon is rich in flavor but still have that very distinct meaty taste. A carnivore's heaven. The rice is abundant with bacon bits. Literally, "kainin pa lang, ulam na." I ate only one egg as the food it way too much for me.

I think this is the New York Steak Bagel Sandwhich

Adrian ordered this one. By the big bites he took, it sure made me wish I ordered this instead. The cheese was so tempting. And the Cassava Chips are tasty, I want a bag of it.

Spicy Seafood Pasta

Ms. Jess ordered the Spicy Seafood Pasta (correct me if I'm wrong with the name) and it is spicy. But I detect spiciness even at its lowest level.. so I'm not sure if this is recommended to those used to scorching their tongue with pepper and chili.

Truffle Oil Mushroom Pasta

Lara initially ordered the Irish Beef Stew but it wasn't available. She chose this instead, Truffle Oil Mushroom Pasta. I have such love for Truffle oil, the woodsy scent just gets to me every single time. I had to smell it before I tasted this one. And it was good, the level of creaminess wasn't overwheleming and the truffle oil was the star of this pasta.

Pasta Pesto

Gene ordered the Pesto Pasta but seeing how it had nuts in it made me not want to try it. I'm not crazy of over nuts in my food. But looking at how Gene tackled this pasta, it made me think twice on my decision not to ask him for a bite.. hmmm...

Over all, I am happy with the pasta of Poco Deli. I am not a pasta fan (except for raviolli), and this resto made me want to try all their pasta menu. I love how al dente the spaghetti was. I heard that they make everything from scratch, their pasta, sausages and sauce.

Red Velvet Cake, Php180

The Red Velvet Cake is heaven!! I am in love with it! It's not too overly sweet but still have that rich texture to it.

To enjoy a great meal at Poco Deli, a budget of about 300 to 500 per person is recommended. It's a good thing we Pinoy have that attitude that we don't care much for money if it's spent on food. :)

I really wish to go back to Poco Deli... this time around for another sausage platter, the pomodoro pasta and about 2 or 3 glasses of Fat Bastard wine. So if you want to try this place, feel free to tag me along!

Other must try, Black Out Chocolate Cake, Pomodoro Pasta and Irish Beef Stew!

Poco Deli is located at  21 East Capitol Drive, Kapitolyo Pasig City. For reservation, call (02) 477-4332.
