Brown Eyes for NYE | The Body Shop 4-Step Smokey Eyes Palette

Keeping it low-key for New Year's Eve was something I didn't plan. I was hoping I could go all glittery and bright welcoming 2012. But all's good, this look was way more appropriate for an intimate celebration that we had during New Year's Eve. It was also a chance to use again my 4-Step Smokey Eyes Palette from The Body Shop.

I've always like The Body Shop's eyeshadows. They are easy to pack on, blend and gives good color pay-off. For girls with less than oily skin, you don't even need a primer as this barely creases on a well-prep lids.

The Body Shop 4-Step Smokey Palette in Gold Brown 02

Getting the Gold Brown Palette was a very good choice because it's just not for creating smokey eyes, this is also great for every look, just tone down the use of the brown shade a bit. Speaking of the brown shade, girls with tan skin or those with morena skin could probably use this as an eyebrow powder.

I got to record this look for a video tutorial. I hope this helps you achieve this look on your own. It's pretty simple to do, so enjoy!

  1. Apply a primer to avoid creasing of eye shadows.
  2. Make eye shadows more vibrant with base. If you don't have a cream shadow base, use a pencil liner.
  3. Creating smoky eyes is easier when you start with the darkest shade in the palette.
  4. Balance out and blend the eye shadow with the midtone shade on the palette to create gradient and reduce harsh line.
  5. Blend well.
  6. Highlight the brow bone with the lightest shade in the palette. This defines it and attract more light to eliminate you looking washed out or punched.
  7. Apply your liner, mascara as usual. Do double coats.
  8. Clean fall out with a makeup remover.
  9. Foundation is best done after completing your eye makeup look.
  10. Add dimension to the face by contouring and highlighting.
  11. Apply the blush on the apply of your cheeks to liven up your face.
  12. Keep the lips nude or neutral and gloss up to complete the look.
  13. Define your brows to frame the face.

Hi Ms. Shen! What type of lighting do you use? or where do you usually take your shots? Or is it because of your camera? Ang ganda kasi ng lighting, pantay na pantay.
