Salma and Katherine Wears NARS at the Golden Globe

I am loving the less is more look on these two incredible actresses! I just watched the recently concluded 2013 Golden Globes awards and it's so refreshing to see a lot of colors this year. And as much as I love the red carpet show. I'm more interested in their makeup more than anything else. No matter how great a dress is, when paired with a bad lipstick or a too bronzer, it just ruins the whole look. Do you agree?

And right on the sweet spot nailing both the dress and makeup, are Salma Hayek and Katharine McPhee.

The veritable talented sexy and exotic actress, this look is certainly very becoming of her. It's age appropriate but still accentuating her best features. I love that she tones it down and chooses shades that are immaculate against her olive golden skin. Aging gracefully, yes. I think Salma nails it!

Makeup artist: Jeannia Robinette

Beauty Inspiration: "Salma is such a knockout! Her dress was midnight blue - very sophisticated and over-the-top glamour, so we wanted to play off the dress, but keep things hip and modern with fresh makeup. The eyes are very luminescent - we lightened them up with coppers and silvery peach, then gave them depth with eggplant and plum. With a bright lip, the look was trendy, young, and modern."

I love Katharine's eyes. It has the Eurasian shape to it that you'd love to smoke it up, bring out her porcelain skin better and make her eye color pop. Intense glamour is what how I would describe this look.

Makeup Artist: Jake Bailey

Beauty Inspiration: "Katharine's dress looks like it belongs in a Helmut Newton photograph, so I thought the makeup should be strong and sultry...the kind of eye makeup that would be in one of those photographs. It's an eye look for sure - a smoky eye with a beautiful nude skin palette."
