Product Review: E.L.F. Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

E.L.F. Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder
Reminiscent of the Nars Blush and Bronzing Duo Orgasm/Laguna, I finally got my grubby hands on its famed dupe ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder. Let's see if this is worth your moolah.

One good thing about ELF Studio palette is that it is very similar to NARS save for the feel of the palette. Some take this as a good thing as NARS palettes have been known to catch a lot of dirt, making it look unattractive in the long run (just use alcohol to clean it). ELF however, have that smooth plastic finish that doesn't easily get dirty.

I will talk about these palettes in two parts. First, about the blush and the next, about the bronzer:

The Blush:
It is a peach shade with very fine golden shimmers. (lighter than Orgasm and more on the peach side, read its closer to Albatross blush)
Pigmentation is just so-so. I use a synthetic brush for easier application.
Blush provides a nice hue to my cheeks.
Very natural-looking brush
Oily Skin? This may not last so much. Better bring this with you for retouch.

The Bronzer:
It's very pigmented
Easy to blend when contouring my cheekbones.
Provides a nice contoured look to my medium-fair skintone

Why buy it?
If you're on the fair to medium-fair, this can work as a very nice blush duo
If you're morena, the blush is a nice highlighter while the bronzer can give dimention.
It's two in one palette which save space in our makeup stash, both at home and in our bags.
Very affordable (I got this as a gift but knowing how affordable ELF is, I'm sure this one is, too)
If you have no allergies or skin sensitivity, this is a nice palette for you.
It's a good palette for those starting to learn to contour their face.
If you like two in one products and save money.

Why not?
If you already have a few bronzers and tons of blushers, then I suggest you miss this one out. No reason adding another palette to your collection if you already have some at home that works just as well if not a lot better.
If you don't like palettes and blush duos.
If you already have the Nars Blush Duo in Orgasm/Laguna.
Saving up for a more expensive product.

Overall, this is a nice palette which I enjoy. Not as much as my MAC Refined Golden Bronzer and NARS Orgasm blush but close enough. Had ELF Studio line came a lot sooner, i would have probably hoarded 2 of these back in the day.

Thankfully, there is now an ELF Studio line here in the Philippines, been seeing them at Watsons stores and SM Department Stores and they carry this product and others, too. Will show you an eyeshadow palette soon. :)

Have you tried anything from ELF Studio? How did it fair?

  6. The bestest thing about this is it's good for people lie me who are just starting out with make up :) They're cheap.  But, I didn't like their eyeliners. Too soft.  I hope they've already reformulated it.
