A Plate of Palette: Smashbox Eye Wish Palette

For the second installment of A Plate of Palette, I present to you my Smashbox Eye Wish Palette I acquired through makeupkit.multiply.com.

Back in early november, I was trying to look for a seller of the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II. Then, I stumbled back to makeupkit multiply site and saw this cute palette from Smashbox. It's a holiday edition for 2010 that is most advertised in US magazines. Encased in a hot pink shimmery case, contains 12 eyeshadows, 4 gel liners, a mini photo finish lid primer, a mirror and exclusive get the look booklet that has step-by-step tutorials of different eye looks.

To dampen my craving for the then elusive Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II, I got myself this palette mid-november of last year. It took a while for me to post this because I really wanted to make sure that this is something I would really use a lot. Smashbox are known for their affordable all-in-one packages. Most of the things I get from them are bundled and nothing failed me yet so far.

A too-good-to-be-true mega eye palette with 12 vibrant shadows, 4 sultry liners, and a mini Photo Finish Lid Primer in a shimmering raspberry mirrored travel case. Includes an exclusive Get the Look Book packed with 13 step-by-step party perfect new looks.

With every WISH purchase, $1 will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network, a non-profit that grants the wish of life to millions of sick or injured kids by providing care and investing in life-saving research.

Help Smashbox make miracles happen this holiday.

$44.00
Smashbox Eye Wish Palette is pretty much a good deal in term of the price of Php2095 (shipping not included). I got this way cheaper compared to buying it at my local Smashbox counter.

When it comes to Smashbox Eyeshadows, I sort of have this love-and-not-so-lovin' relationship with it since I find some of them a bit chalky and short on pigmentation. But given that this palette has the coveted Smashbox photo finish lid primer, even the chalkiest or hard to show eyeshadow will show up if you apply the primer first.

The 12 eyeshadows here in the palette is truly well thought out. The shadows are great for all skin type and is very much usable for either day or night time. There are matte ones that are safest during the day but the shimmery ones aren't that too shimmery that you'd consider using as well for daytime.

The liners are quite the thing, actually. I would have thought that it would not have a long lifetime because its not properly covered. Even if I left it open for one whole day ,the liner still worked beautifully. It didn't get hard or anything of the sort. Every eyeshadow are pigmented enough that you will feel you got your money's worth. Some will come of as chalky at first this will go after some uses.

Although I love this palette, this still falls a little short off of the Urban Decay Book Shadows. For almost the same price, I would still choose UDBOS Volume II if asked to choose between the two. Thank God, I was not put to the test and I have both! God is truly good.

Many will love the Smashbox Eye Wish Palette for the versatility of eye shadows. It has enough colors for you to play around with, liners to experiment and the lid primer to ensure that your eye makeup won't budge. Great for all ladies out there who are in search of a set of eye shadows to tote around while traveling or just lazy (like me) to keep on opening and closing eyeshadow pots. :) lol.
