FOTD: Tanned Bronzed Look (+ Mini Reviews of Products Used)

My recent vacation in Bohol really gave me a tan that I'm not quite sure I like. My mom use to tease me that I don't look pretty with a tan. Mom was too honest to a fault that I try not to tan much since then. But I was on vacation and the sun shone on us the whole trip. How can I say no to lounging on the pool and the beach when Mother Nature provided us with such a beautiful weather, right?

What made me happy about being tan though was the fact that I can embrace bronzing, not just only my cheeks but on my eyes as well. Have you read my post on ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder? Here you will see me use it. :)

Here's how I did this look:

I used the  Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer and Highlighter  in Light-Medium. This product offers a two-in-one convenient compact. But I just used the concealer to cover my dark under eyes. My skin reverted back to its original skin type (oily), so I decided to skip the highlighter.

Next is the foundation and this time I used a BB Cream from Tony Moly called  Baby Doll BB Foundation with Sebum Control . I've been told by their SA that this best for oily skin. Personally, my combination skin is too oily on the T-zone and no about of mattifying product will ever work but this was worth a try. Good thing that this is yellow base and matches my skin tone perfectly!

Foundation: Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Foundation
Foundation: Tony Moly Baby Doll BB Foundation

Provides a good enough coverage and works like a regular BB Cream. Since I don't currently have a lot of blemishes to conceal, I'm not sure how this fare for those with dark spots and pimples. As for covering pores, it doesn't really provide enough coverage and needs to be set with powder. Which is next on my post.

Setting Powder: Avon Ideal Shade Loose Powder

I've had the  Avon Ideal Shade Loose Powder   for quite a while. So far, it provides a nice smooth coverage and sets my foundation real well. I really can't say much about this product except that it does its job. Although it doesn't last very long on keeping the oilies at bay.

Blush and Bronzer: ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

I did quite a review about the  ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder  and raved about it here. Like I said, the blush may not be as pigmented but the bronzer works really well on my skin.

For the eyes I used several products that are all available here in Manila.

  1.  ELF Eyes Natural Eyeshadow Palette  - Although I'm a ELF Fan, with this palette not so much since this is too powdery and chalky for my taste. I swear it felt like I was using mineral eye shadow and not even the good type. I hope not all ELF eye palettes are like this. Too bad, this could have been a nice dupe for Urban Decay eye shadows.
  2.  Majolica Majorca Cream Pencil Liner - OMG, this liner is amazing! It's very smooth and easy to apply. It's very pigmented, it's crazy. I was even able to used a liner brush to turn the application to winged tips.
  3.  Revlon Brow Fantasy - one of my latest faves when I nabbed one at the Revlon counter. This brow pencil and mascara is yet another two-in-one product that saves money. The pencil is pigmented enough to ensure I have good looking brows. While the brow gel reminds me of Shu Uemura Brow Manicure.
  4.  Max Factor Xperience Volumising Mascara - I did a review of this on this product here. Brigitte noticed how lush my lashes looked, she thought I was wearing falsies. It's probably because of the mousse formulation and how it effectively separates my lashes.

For the lips, I used Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss Lip Gel in This Too Shall Glass, a pale pink/peach lipgloss with gold shimmers that gives that nude-like effect that doesn't fall flat on the lips. I notice that I don't use gloss often in my FOTD's. This stems fromt he fact I like seeing my lisptick shade more and I don't like my lips to look pouty. With this gloss, however, I think I'm going to use my glosses a lot more often.

There you go, another FOTD with a minor reviews of the products I've used. I hope this post helped those of you on a look out for products to try.

I definitely recommend grabbing the following:
  • Revlon Brow Fantasy
  • Majolica Majorca Cream Pencil Liner
  • Wet n Wild Glassy Gel
  • Max Factor Xperience Volumizing Mascara
  • Revlon Beyond Natural Concealer & Highlighter
  • ELF Studio Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder

And guess what, all of them are available in Watsons or SM Department Store, Beauty section. Very accessible to all of us. :)
