There is no time like post child birth that a woman feels more insecure about her body. After months of pregnancy bliss, carrying a life inside her, she's now faced with a body she barely knew. There's nothing more this busy body needs than support and love. It took me a long time to get to know this body and when I did, I was proud of it.


Giving birth and breastfeeding gave me a whole new perspective about my body. It is no longer the sexual symbol it represented on TV and movies. I finally knew what they mean when they said it didn't need to measure up to a standardized beauty. It was made to make a life and nurture life. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of how well architectured our body is. So well that did not require to be a certain size nor a certain weight. Regardless, it will do what is it suppose to do to support life!

Gold never gets old! That is why I am raving over the new Avon 24k Gold Holiday Collection.

These new luxurious limited-edition Ultra Color Lipsticks are all about the glam for the festive season. The gold packaging on Instagram and their online catalog already had me drooling! I was about to call my Avon Lady when Avon sent me a box of these goodies. I certainly am on the Nice List this Christmas! :)

It's been awhile since I really dolled up.

Since I had baby Claud, I barely had time to put on makeup on. Taking care of her is all I wanted to do from the moment she opens her eyes in the morning to the minute she closes them at night. I'm a lucky mom though because my baby is easily content. That's why I allow myself an hour or two sometimes to attend events here and there and to write here on my blog.

And when I received the invite to Pond's Beautiful Story event, I took this chance to try to glam myself up. Well just a little bit. So in between breastfeeding and rocking baby Claud to sleep, I started to spruce up.  I missed this! Don't get me wrong, I love motherhood but it really does take so much of my time. So getting to play with my makeup again was such a sweet breather. Thank God, our baby Claud wasn't so fussy.

So here's my very first Face of the Day as a Mom! :)

When I received Avon's Ideal Luminious line, I didn't think much of it. As a girl with combination to oily skin, I am quick to dismiss (almost like on autopilot) whenever I see luminious, luminating, dewy finish or the likes when I see them on the packaging, thinking that it's not the right fit for my skin type or much worst, aggravate my already oily skin. I was scared that I would look like a frying pan, all oiled up for cooking eggs. But I took a chance, tested it and saw what an amazing effect these two give!

Happy Monday, ladies (and gents, too!)! It's another beautiful work week! One that will be cut short, thanks to Labor Day holiday this coming weekend! Who here has Friday on leave already? I bet some of you will be spending the weekend at #Laboracay!

I want to think of myself as confident, knows what's she's doing and has everything all figured out. But I don't. Seriously, who does? If you do, then kuddos to you! :)

But for many of us, we appreciate the little things that makes it easy for us to navigate in this very very trying times. Like an eye shadow quad for instance. :) Avon launched this new set of eye makeup palettes, True Color Eyeshadow Quad that are strategically numbered to guide us on where to properly place the eye shadows.

For women who've been playing around makeup for years, this isn't necessary. But for many the task of putting on an eye shadow is still very daunting. That's why i think it's really great for Avon to think of something like this to provide women ease and confidence in trying out more cosmetic products and now get stuck with just lipsticks.

My favorite palette by far is the Chocolate Sensation which is both forgiving and classy, great for all skin tones. And very pigmented, too!

Here's how I used mine, following the diagram placed on the back of the quad, guided by the numbers on the palette.

1. Apply the 1 eye shadow (beige satin with shimmer) as highlight for the brow bone and along the tear duct area.
2. Apply the 2 eye shadow (taupe satin with shimmer) as shade for the lids.
3. Apply the 3 eye shadow (reddish brown satin with shimmer) to define the crease or create a false one.
4. Apply the 4 eye shadow (deep brown matte shade) to deepen the outer corner of the crease.
5. Apply eyeliner and mascara as usual.
