Got Winked at Wink Laser & Wax Studio

I had a chance to visit one of Manila's best Laser & Wax Studio. It's owner. Holly Chang, wanted to change the way we look at going bare. It's suppose to be fun and affordable. And I of course, agree. For the year this establishment has been opened,  it has earned a reputation as one of Manila's top waxing salons.

Find out more about my experience and see if Wink is worth "opening" up for. *-

You really don't feel like you're getting waxed when you come and visit Wink. The place is so warm and open with it's yellow interior color and cool beige walls. It's decorated with a lot asterisks which we all known in emoticon language as the wink sign. Clever, right?

People are significantly pleasant. Even times when there are several clients, you won't feel it from the girls. They were as warm as sunshine.
The waxing rooms are particularly spacious. I'm not new to waxing and have tried several waxing salons in the past and so far, Wink has the most spacious rooms. It's even larger than regular clinic and dermatology centers. The beds are covered in clean waxing paper for sanitary purposes. Attendants wear latex gloves and they don't double dip.

During my first visit,  I had the Brazilian Wax. Definitely not a thing I could easily entrust to anyone but my attendant looked and felt like she had seen and done "everything" that I felt at is baring my hoo-ha to her. She made me feel comfy. Though definitely not my first to do a Brazilian wax, shifting to another salon might cause you to feel embarassed. Don't be, everyone at Wink are professionals.

My waxing took around 15 to 20 minutes which included me and my waxing expert getting acquainted. Given my low pain threshold, trying a new wax is not something I'm too keen about. But I heard good things about the natural Berin's Wax Pellets. It's a hot hard wax that easily takes out unwanted hair. Soft Rose (the pink one) was used for my hoo-ha. :) True enough, the heat from the wax opens up the pores and once the wax hardens, taking it out is quite easy.

Of course, the process is still painful for me given my low pain threshold. But it was tolerable enough for me to lie there and take it. Once the wax is off anyway, the pain is instantly gone. And the aesthtician is very good at keeping you comfy at all times. :)

The blue Berin's Pellet Wax is used for other parts of the body like the arms, legs and underarms.

My view during my Brazilian waxing. :) Want something to distract you from pain? Count the asterisks! :)

Wink offers a lot of packages for whatever lifestyle and budget you have. Aside from Waxing, Wink also offers laser hair removal using the best of laser machine brand. They also use the all-natural cleansers from Messy Bessy.

And some products from Soak Swimwearand Snoe Beauty. :)

Overall, the experience is nice and I came out hair free and happy. I always love the effect a brazilian! It's... freeing! One good thing I like about Wink is that I also didn't develop ingrown hair afterwards. Just follow their instructions of exfoliation every 4 days or so. My hoo-haa felt smooth, pink and lovely.. as it should be! :)
