Look what I found for you, guys! :)

Some really affordable Radiant-Orchid inspired polishes at our local beauty department stores! I found these at the beauty section of SM Megamall and SM Hypermart Watsons. Ottie, I got them at Orange Box, a beauty subscription box. :)

As much as I'm obsessed with the mints and turquoise, I can' deny that radiant orchid is such a pretty color to wear this year. Especially on our nails. :) But since I didn't want to spend so much on nail polish, I went ahead and took a shot at looking at some local brands of nail lacquers. And they did not disappoint. Found some good ones from Caronia and a few from other brands. Some are even classic shades that we've had for decades now! Nice to know that we have an array of choices available from different price points. If you're not particular about your nail polish brands like I do, then you'll love these. :)

So go ahead, go get some of these affordable polishes and onto your digits ASAP!

1. Caronia Cashmere (Regular) - Php37.00
2. Caronia First Crush (Regular) - Php37.00
3. Caronia Italian Nude (Regular) - Php37.00
4. Caress Glory Fuji - Php23.75
5. BYS Scented Pastel Purple- Cotton Candy - Php199.00

Dear ladies from home-grown nail polish brand, Caronia is making sure that our nails are worthy of the Summer heat with their new Caronia Nail Polish "Expressions" Collection. Inpsired by the pastels and warm hues of the season, they arranged three shades that you'll love.

There's Rosy Glow, a soft cool pastel pink with a purple tint that inspires girly moods and tea in the afternoons. Fresh Mint, a light pastel green that invites love for nature and excursion especially this season. And of course, the very popular Blue Chill, pale blue frosty shade that seeims to mimic the slow waves of the beach water.

Initially, these Caronia Miss Mystic Collection where sent to me pre-Holiday. Unfortunately, work and back-blogs (plus the whirlwind events of the Holiday season) got to me. But I'd like to share this with you, no matter how delayed,  caoz I really liked everything in the collection. Inspired by the color of season, these three shade are great accent-makers for the festive Holidays.

But use them singularly, you still get a fabulous set of nail colors! Looking at this collection, the style still carries over to 2013. Check out how to rock Miss Mystic Collection this year!

Curious what's up for 2013, beauty department-wise?

Here's a few I've seen both on Spring/Summer 2013 fashion and beauty trends and some that's making it's way from the past few months.

Long luscious lashes - lash extension salons will love this new trend and so do you, I promise. Nothing like long lashes to give that quick perk-me-up look. Curled and columized lashes do help enhance anybody's features and immediately draw positive attention. i-Lash salon so far is the only lash extenstion salon I've tried and they have great service. Can't commit? go for Majolica Majorca Lash King for bold lashes. Seriously, that mascara is the bomb!

Braids - one trend that Iwould not be able to follow unless I get someone do this for me. Seen on many fashion runways, the Katniss Everdeen hair trend is not wanning one bit. So, go on youtube and practice the fishtail, french or whatever braid that you want to perfect. Keep your hair in tip top shape with Syoss Professional Performance Repair Therapy. Braids can be a bit harsh on the hair, you know.

Strong brows - Brooklyn Shield's will be happy to hear this. I love that strong brows are in. But try toning down the colors when doing strong brows. ontouring best pair strong brows. Define your eyes, cheeks and nose. Use pencil liner instead of gel or eyeliner for a softer touch.

Vintage-y hair - think volume and curls. Classic hair look that makes you think of Norma Jean Baker and Katherine Hepburn. Nothing like short bangs or cropped up 'do. More on waves and natural allure. So, whip out those roller and silk night cap and wake up to wavy locks everyday! I love using Bounce Whip Mousse from L'oreal Professionel. It's the best!

Metallic Eyes - a trend I'm dying to try out again. Been pretty tamed for the past year and I think with the economy booming, designers and brands aren't afraid to use colors and metallic is one of it. With lots of mineral makeup made from Ellana Minerals, Krave Minerals and Virginia Olsen, creating this look is easy!

Nude Nail Polishes - Something's got to give this season, and nails have taken the bullet. Taupe, pail pink, tans will be the best choices for this season. No worries, nude nails actually exudes elegance and class. Something I think many of us, working women will appreciate. I like Caronia's Touch of Beige and Touch of Tan (I know many who will agree with me on this!).

Bright Red Lips - Yes, no need to put those holiday red lips to rest. You can still whip them out from time to time this season MAC Red and Lady Danger are a good choice. My favorite? Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion.

Deep Side Part hair - a carry on of the strong brows look. Sleek hair pairs well with the dimension of strong brows. Structured is the key for the season and one of the best way to achieve it is through this kind of hair look. Don't forget to apply a bit of Kerastase Elixir Ultime for a sleeker and shiny hair. On a budget, Snoe Beauty Hair Glaze will do!

Matte Lips - a trend that will never waiver. Why not? It's the best lippies there is. No matter how drying some matte lipstick formulas are, it still gives that flattering look, especially for pouty lips like mine. Go for the Shu Uemura Matte Rouge Deluxe or Bobbi Brown Matte Lipsticks. I just love these, too. Of course, no need to mention MAC's Ruby Woo.

I'm glad I'm not seeing a lot of those dewy finish makeup look and that trends now play on our features than entirely change them.

What are you excited about for this year's beauty trend? :)

Summer is hardly over... does it ever in our beautiful tropical country? I feel really sad that we'll experience less sunny weather from here on out. Although the strong heat has been making me wish for shower of rain everytime I go out, I still am not prepared for the rainy season. I am still a Summer Girl at heart.

Caronia seems to feel the same way I do with their Tropical Dolls Collection. Named after summer-y fruits Blueberry, Kiwi and Tangerine, it's just impossible not to feel the fun under the sun with these shades.

Ooohh! I could feel the summer already and it's my favorite season of all. That's why you can never ever make me move anywhere else that isn't tropical. I love my country with it's beautiful beaches, lively, beautiful and hospitable people and tons of activities to do during the season. And I love how it's practically summer all year long and going to beach is just a matter of whether we have time to sneak away from work. Oh how I love my Pilipinas!

But enough of that because it's not till May til I can feel the sand beneath my toes and feel the salty water against my skin. Oh but do I dream it everyday now.

Just look at Caronia's 2011 Summer Bliss Collection? Doesn't it remind you of summer ice cream flavors of pistachios, mango, melon, strawberry and ube? :) Cuteness factor skyrocketing if you have this on your nails when you frolic under the sun this season.

 On-The-Go (Aqua Green)

 Sweet Surprise (Lemon Yellow)

Sun Kissed (Pumpkin Orange)

 Baby Pink (Salmon Pink)

Summer Fling (Coral Red)

First Crush (Rich Lilac)

Caronia suggest wearing one or a pair of nail polish, one on your fingers and another on your toes.
Instantly relive your sweet sixteen days by painting your fingers with Baby Pink (salmon pink) and your toes with On-the-Go (aqua green).
Sizzle your way to the beach with the warm hues of Summer Fling (coral red) and Sun Kissed (pumpkin orange) on your digits

Or if you just want to let loose, then try on First Crush (rich lilac) paired with Sweet Surprise (lemon yellow) for a young and vibrant vibe.

But why not try painting your nails with all the shades of Summer Bliss Collection? Go candy colored nails this summer while sporting that beach body worthy in a white bikini. Pak!

Aren't the colors remind you of Nips candy or the Smarties? Oh the joys of youth! Summer is indeed in the air as I feel a bit more playful lately.. Can't wait to build sand castles, burry myself under the sand and eat lots of inihaw! And of course, rocking my nails with Caronia Summer Bliss Collection. Hahaha!!

Will you be sporting colorful nails this summer? What are your picks from the Caronia Summer Bliss Collection?

BTW, you try the summer bliss collection by using the virtual hand on the Caronia Website. Check it out! :) Or check out their facebook page: http://facebook.com/CaroniaPhilippines.

Caronia just sent me their latest collection for the upcoming holiday season. It boasts of wonderful metallic colors that are sure to be eaten raw by nailaholics and trendsetters.

Caronia's Bright Nights Collection takes its cue for the latest trends in fashion. Metallics are quite the fad this season and Caronia saw to it that this collection will go with your fall/winter outfits.

The colors are very festive just as what this holiday season is.

Gold Rush, Stellar, Lounge and Trance

My favorite so far is the Gold Rush (gold). You know I'm a sucker for anything gold and this one is quite unique from other Caronia gold polish I have. Besides, it's a safe color for work as it is subdued enough for daytime.

Trance (purple) comes in second for because it makes my skin look fairer against. Stellar (red) doesn't take too much of an effort to love but I think you can save this one for the love month. Lounge (green) could be mistaken for silver which makes it a nice statement nail color when you want add a tad character to your nails.

What I love about the whole collection has that foil effect that i've been seeing in imported nail polishes. :) It definitely has that updated texture that I love. :)

As for me who can't put one decent nail polish on one fingernail, i'll still be going ga-ga over the Caronia Bright Nights Collection. After all, a girl who just got her groove back needs a spanking bright nails to wave up in the air as she dance the night away. :) So, I'm taking these nail polishes with me at my favorite nail salon and let my nail tech paint my nails with Caronia's Bright Nights Collection.

Excuse the rogue application. Have shaky hands. lol!!

For a girl who just got her groove back, I definitely need a polish that'll make waving my hands up in the air a lot more fun. Hehehe!

much love,
Shen

The Caronia Bright Nights Collection will be available this November 2010 for only Php31.75 for 8ml bottle.

Caronia Desire (Frosted)

Whenever I see this color, it reminds me of those red christmas balls decoration that we use to put up on our christmas trees. :) I can definitely use this nail polish just in case those balls have chips on them.

But Desire is indeed a good name for this red frosted nail polish with pink understones. The boldness of the color exudes sexiness and boldness to who ever wears it. As fo r this author, I love red nail polishes. Not only is it attention-grabbing, it also makes my skin look fairer.

My attempt at Nikki-pose hands. :)

Here's another.

Desire is definitely on my favorite list of Caronia Nail Polishes and I'm sure it will be yours, too!

much love,
Shen

Thanks!

Caronia "Joy"

When I saw the name "Joy" written at the back of this Caronia nail polish, I knew it was a color that I would sport a lot. It having the same name as my mom makes this nail polish at lot more special.. But irregardless, the color is very lovely. The shade of beige always compliments a clean cut look. I love wearing this polish when my clothes are more on the sophisticated side. Joy is also a safe-for-work nail polish that almost blends to the skin. It looks so clean and but still grabs the attention.

I know that my mom would love this shade, being a fan of Touch of Beige and Touch of Tan.

I miss you, mom. If you were here, we can both enjoy my Caronia nail polishes. They have lot of wonderful colors that I know you'd love to try. But knowing you, it would just be a passing fancy and would still return to your favorite shades.

I miss you terribly. Having this nail polish makes me feel a lot closer to you.

much love,
Shen

I didn't realize that two posts on my blog will get me a chance to be a part of Caronia's Spa and Tea Party at The Grove Rockwell. It was the launch of their official website and awarding of the winners of their Online Contest (you may have seen it on popular magazines like Cosmopolitan, Yes and Candy).

The event was filled with fun things to do. California Nails and Day Spa were there to treat the guests for some mani/pedis (nail colors are from Caronia of course). Food were catered by one of my favorite French Patisserie, Bizu. Drinks were overflowing and I got quite addicted with the virgin mojito served to me. Ipads were available for me to check out www.caronia.com.ph where I got to try their a lot of colors from Caronia via the virtual application.

Best of all, I got to meet Kristine Julaton, Brand Specialist for Vibelle, and Amaris Mallare, Brand Manager for Caronia, to personally thank them for checking out my blog and providing the loots for my anniversary contest.

click the photo to visit the Caronia Website.
Try all the Caronia colors with their Nail Polish page.

This was the contest page that had all the pictures that the girls sent.
Women sparkled indeed during this content.
Oh how I wish I had their confidence to join the contest.
:)

Drooling over the number of polishes adorning the event! I love them all!

I'm thankful for Caronia for taking notice of my blog when I feature a few Caronia products. In exchange, they sent me these wonderful products that I could play around with. They also sponsored my Second Year Anniversary Contest which allowed me to shower many of my winners with tons of Caronia products. Sometimes, when you least expect it, good things to do happen.

Love for nail polishes and specifically, Caronia, started because of my mom. She loves getting her nails done and I remember that she loves many Caronia nail polishes. One of her favorite colors was Pussy Red. It's a rich vibrant magenta red that screams Twilight now. It is a great fall color but mom wears it no matter the season. For professional looking nails, my mom opts for Touch of Beige and Italian Nude. Who doesn't know these popular colors, I'm sure haven't had their nails done yet.

Mom really instilled in me the love for getting my nails done and playing with nail polish colors. It's because of her that I try to always have great looking nails.

These hot summer season though, Caronia generously gave me candy-yum colors to play around with.

Let me show you some of the colors I've been rocking these season.

I call this "Under the Sea" Colors
I'm not particular with blue nail polishes but Blue Chill is amongst my favorite along with Goddes and Purple Punch.

While these colors, I call "Sun is Love"
My favorites are Posh, Diva and Pink Passion. The Golden Sun is such a great top coat.

I have a hard time choosing which colors to use. :) Wouldn't you be, if your were in my place?

Caronia made sure I had all the right products whenever I do my nails.

They also ensured I could indulge with hand and feet pampering with their latest products.

Thanks, Caronia, for such wonderful gifts and liking my blog!

much love,
Shen
