Shen's Addiction: argan oil

Look what I just found. It's something new from Snoe Beauty! It's another addition to their Hair Heroes collection, 'Intense' PM Repair Argan Oil (Moroccan Liquid Gold).

It sure look good with my 5-in-1 Intense Argan Oil Moroccan Liquid Gold Cleansing Conditioner and Honey Olive Clemetine Sulfate Free Shampoo. The moment I saw and smelled it, I knew that it was coming home with me. It smells exactly like it's big sister, 5-in-1 Intense Argan Oil Cleansing Conditioner. I honestly went for that reason to buy it rather than actually looking intensely on how it can benefit my hair. Yes, I am a sucker for good-smelling products.

But do you notice how dry and dull your hair is end of the day? My hair is exactly like that especially since I love washing it. So at night, just before going to bed, I spray a few pumps of the Hair Heroes Intense PM Repair to condition my hair and give back some of the nutrients loss from the harsh sun and stress.

And yes, my hair looks different and it smells good too!

It's major ingredients, Argan and Jojoba oils, we all know is are both great moisturizer to the skin and hair. Argan is becoming really popular lately. I wonder if they will come out with Argan oil body wash. Hehehe!

The only prob I came across with is that this 50ml bottle seems to little for my thick, bleached and dry hair. I may have to hoard on this product!

Anybody who lives in the vicinity of SM Hypermart Pasig probably knows that Nail-a-holics have been open for quite sometime. I've going to this place for my nail needs because its the only place I can be comfortable in and really good manicure and pedicure. Unfortunately, other nail spas near my place and those situated inside SM Hypermart falls short of my expectation. Nail spas doesn't come cheap compared to getting them at salons so I want to get all my money's worth.

And another reason I like going to Nail-a-holics is because their Hand and Foot Hammam Package! It is by far one of the best spa experience I've ever had.

What is Hammam?

Hammam is a Moroccan spa ritual that includes batting, scrubbing and exfoliating using popular Moroccan products like black olive and argan oil in an alternating hot and cold room temperatures. The Hammam is then needed with a soothing massage and a tea.

I was so excited to try this as I've been hearing really great things about argan oil and its benefits. The ritual is very simple but the products used was so rich, I left the nail spa totally moisturized and invigorated.

As always, the feet is soaked in a tub of warm water with soap. This cleanses the feet and softens it for scrubbing. Next, both my feet and legs were treated for exfoliation with dead-sea salt and olive scrub to remove dead skin. After scrubbing, Dead Sea Mud Mask was applied on to my legs. The mask stayed on till the end of my foot spa and pedicure.

Same thing goes for the hands and arms, except that the scrub used here is less coarser.

I really feel like a Morrocan royalty getting this hand and foot spa. It is such a lovely experience to have someone fuss on you. Suffice it to say that I really enjoy this spa experience through and through. The ambience was helpful putting me in the mood. Nail-a-holics interiors always put me in a relaxing mood. Well, who wouldn't if you're a beach lover.

The place is so relaxing that I could fall asleep as they do this ritual on me. I recommend this to anyone who needs serious pampering and those with extremely dry hands and feet.

My manicurist helped me choose this nail polish from Orly, Green Apple, for both my hand and feet. It's a lovely shade of green apple as the name suggest! Oh! And polish lasted weeks two weeks on me. I just had to replace it because the growth on my nails was showing. So surprised because usually my polish would chip unless I use a nice top coat.

What I like best is that they weren't stingy with the Moroccan Argan Oil. They use the one from Cynos, called Body and Thairapy Morrocan Argan Oil. Other argan oils I've tried, the scent always put me off. But this one didn't it actually smelled spa-ish. And this one is only Php1200 for such a huge bottle.

Do look for Melody and Canze when going to Nail-a-holics SM Hypermart, they did a great job on my Hammam package. :)

Happy Halloween!

October 25, 2011, Creations Salon, Glorietta 5, Makati - Selected number of women from digital and traditional media were invited for a day of pampering at Lourd Ramos' salon, Creations, with treatments and hair procedures care of Cynos, the latest beauty player in town. Derived from the word Cynosure which means to lead the way to fashion, Cynos (also translated to Cycle, Natural, Original and System) aims to be become a leader in hair care in the beauty industry.

First made in Korea then Germany and Canada, CYNOS has found its way in the Philippines, a country that is inhabited by women who takes their salon experience seriously.

CYNOS brings a range of hair care products, treatments and procedure that are quality made but affordable to many. Quite a feat that I think we Filipinas would defiinitely appreciate.

Given that my hair has undergone a lot of procedures, from chemical rebonding to coloring, it is in a state far from what a healthy hair looks like. Filipina Ambassador of CYNOS recommended that I try to Silk Essence with Proteing Replenisher.

Silk Essense is a miracle treatment that is ideal for weak and damaged shaft much like mine. It's a seven minute process which is great for those in a hurry. Protein Replenisher brings back nutrients to the hair, leaving it soft and shiny.

I love getting my hair washed by someone else. I think it's one of world's most relaxing experience. I often wish I was born into royalty in renaissance time so my hair would be washed by someone else all the time. Hehehe!

Tada! Smoother and shinier hair!

As with most hair treatment, the effects are almost immediate. But of course, caring for our hair isn't a one time deal. I can say from experience that if you're happy with your hair, try not to do anything with like coloring, rebonding or curling. Rather just care for it with hair sunscreen and frequent hair conditioning. But if your hair is like mine, then you have probably tried different things to improve the texture of your hair.

And with that comes with great responsibility. With rebonding, the drem of straight long and frizz-free hair is attained but dryness could be the next assault. So care for it with not just regular conditioning but salon and home deep conditioning.

One of the suggested at home care is the Morocco Argan Oil. Morrocan oil, for centuries has been known to mositurize and repair dryness on the face, body and hair. Compared to the other moroccan argan oil I've tried, this one has the most pleasant smell and for the size, it's the cheapest at Php1,200. It looks and feels very aunthentic.

One of the CYNOS products that I like to try is the Moon Dust. Moon Dust is great for oily hair. I think I need this during those times I'm not allowed to wash my fair for a few days like when i just had rebonding treatment. Also when going out of town where in water is scarce. Actually, I just really like the feel of it. Like snow! This is sold for Php350.
