Clinique's Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop Got My Cheeks Poppin' This Summer

A powder blush that doesn't isn't powdery at all. What do you think of that? :)

When I got Clinique's newest blush, Cheek Pop, in my mail, I got so excited and also a little bit scared. Ginger Pop, the one that I got, isn't really the kind s of blush I would normally choose for myself. It's a deep coral shade with barely there hints of shimmer. I thought it's going to be too dark on my skin and that I'd be having a hard time working in a soft blend on to my cheeks.

I was wrong! Ginger Pop is by far my most favorite blush this season! It's one of those love at first swatch.

But before we get into that, can we just praise the packaging? I read a few reviews that there were not many who are happy about the acryclic/lucite packaging but it isn't the case at all. The look and feel of the Cheek Pop feels very posh and sturdy. The dainty daisy print is a mold and won't go away so easily even after several use.

Now we go to the texture. The look and feel is like a creamy powder. It looks and feels like a powder, but it goes on almost creamy on to the cheeks. I hope that makes sense. But the good news is that it doesn't have any fall out AT ALL. Zilch. Nada. Zero. Clinique used a slow-baking process that transform the smooth liquid blush to distinct powder form.

With a finger swatch, the pigments are off the charts. But when used with a powder blush or in my case, MAC's 109, this baby only attracts enough pigment to give me that right amount of coral goodness on to my cheeks.

I consider Ginger Pop to have the deepest shade among all the four Cheek Pop colors and given how easy it is to blend, I find myself bringing this everywhere with me! I wore this on several occasions and it includes both my baby showers. :) I just love the flattering flush it gives me with every swipe. :) To say I like this blush is an understatement.

Cheek Pop stays on even with the harsh humid weather we are experiencing. And given how easily makeup melts from my oily hot skin, the staying power of more eight hours impressed me.

I've always liked every thing Clinique churns out from their laboratories, and Cheek Pop is no different. :) And they have succeeded in making Cheek Pop on the top of my favorite blush this season. :)

Summary:

  • Powder to creamy consistency once applied
  • Pigmented but lightweight
  • Easy to blend
  • Buildable finish
  • Available in shades that will suit a lot of skin tones
  • Eight-hour staying power
  • No fall outs
  • Suits all skin types
  • No skin reaction
  • Posh yet dainty packaging

I suggest grabbing Ginger Pop ASAP! The other shades are also enticing to grab, especially Berry Pop and Plum Pop, I find that Ginger Pop is the most natural shade for warmer skin tones. And given that the shade is buildable, you won't have any problem working it from sheer blush to a cheek poppin' one! :)

Take a look at the swatches and the look I created with it below. :)
