The Wand Review: Max Factor 24HFalse Lash Effect Mascara

It's another mascara review! :)

This time it's Max Factor Lash Effect Mascara (Php795). Doesn't it remind you so much of CoverGirl Lash Blast? CoverGirl and Max Factor is actually under one company so no surprise when these two share resources and innovations. What's the difference? It's the consistency. Max Factor has a liquid to cream sort of consistency while Lash Blast has a drier formula. Brush wise, they seem to be cut from the same stone (or mold).

At a first glance, I wasn't instantly impressed. It's been a while since I last used a big mascara as this one and I actually don't miss it. And that's coming from someone with long lashes. I'm not exactly how my friends with shorter ones would like this. But of course, being the beauty addict, I went and tested it.

So far, it's been great. :) I got the brown/black shade and it compliments my skin and hair pretty well. It's great if you want natural effect. :)

Check out for yourself how it fared on my long lashes. :)

Overall, this mascara is great for giving a natural long looking lashes that is bit a volumized. I advise you use 2 to 3 coats to get that long lash effect that this mascara claims to have. But if you'e just chilling and hanging out with the girl for coffee, one cot is enough to open up your eyes.

What's good about this mascara is that it's promise to give you an all day no flaking and no smudges is real. The formula may take a while to dry but when it does, it doesn't budge. I like that it doesn't weigh down my lashes' curl and stays on despite the changes in weather lately.

What I like about this mascara:

  • It stays on forever (well at least a day)
  • Black/Brown shades gives a more natural effect
  • It volumizes
  • It lengthens

What I don't:

  • Take about 3 coats to get that false lash effect
  • The big wand transfer to my lids as I apply it.

Is it okay to skip this mascara for another? I can say yes, Max Factor is great at so many things and they've been around for decades providing women with great cosmetics... but mascara isn't exactly what they're known for. I suggest picking up their blackest mascara if you want to remain true and loyal to the brand. :)
