The Makeup Look: The Bridesmaid

If you know me well and I guess many of you do, I'm not much into weddings. But last Saturday I was elbow-immersed in it, I can't imagine myself any longer not becoming a bride, walking down the aisle and celebrating true love with people I care about.

A made everything fantastically beautiful and I love the Moroccan theme of the whole wedding, it's bright, vivacious and amazingly well-executed. But more on that on the next post. Let's talk about my look as one of the bridesmaids.

The gown of each bridesmaid were bright and bold. Mine is a deep teal that complimented my skin tone. And since my gown is making itself the focus, I made sure to keep it toned down on the makeup front and just accentuate my features.

Weddings are always a good excuse to whip out my favorite false lashes, Glambox Mink Lashes. It's the most malleable, easy to put on lashes ever!

One thing to ensure when you have a part in the wedding, your makeup should last. Compared to just being a guest, being a part of a wedding of someone I really care for included bucketful of tears of happiness and of course a lot of running around to help out.

But I won't let my makeup ruin the moment. Here's a few things to keep in mind:
  • Eye shadows shouldn't crease for a least 8 hours. Mine stayed put from 11am to 11pm.
  • Mascara shouldn't run. Use waterproof and sweat-proof mascara.
  • Foundation and powder should provide lasting coverage and shine-control.
  • Cream blush provides a good base to make your blush last longer
  • Do the apply-pat-apply method with you lipstick to keep the color on.

And here are the products I used that kept me looking lovely the whole day... despite the heat, crying and stress from my shoes. :)

I had such a lovely time at GP and Aiza's Wedding. They are a couple that really deserves a happily ever after. As her cousin and her friend, I've witnessed their true love for each other and their wedding was the celebration of the 9 years of their relationship and for more to come.

Being the ate Shen, I still feel like I'm losing the bunso (youngest) we know so well. But when I saw the sparkle in her eyes, the genuine smile and the sure stride in her walk down the aisle, I was so happy to see her finally making her dreams come true with her prince. She deserves this happiness and I'm so glad I was a part of it.

For those of you who feel that your true love will never come, I can tell you right now that it's not true. He will find you and he will patiently wait for you and will love you no matter what. I saw all that happened last Saturday. And it can easily happen to you, too!

Have a happy Tuesday!
