Product Review | Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Collection

With baby on the way and with several things that I'm not allowed to use, I've been motivated to try more natural products. I really do consider myself still a noob when it comes to naturally-made cosmetics. But since I have to take extra care now that I'm expecting, I made sure to educate myself more with brands that cater to my current needs.

Right now, I lean towards products with less ingredients in them and those that are healthy for my skin and body. And definitely those that are safe for the baby growing inside me.

One of which I've come across with just before Christmas last year was Burt's Bees Lip Glosses. I also have it here the Burt's Bees Shine. But I'll highlight more the Lip Glosses. :)

Burt's Bees prides themselves with being true to their roots of using 100% natural ingredients. Dates back 29 years ago, the humble beginnings of this brand will definitely inspire you. But more so on their philosophy to take care of nature and give its best to us.

Did you know that their first product were candles made from beeswax? Because of a book of recipe on personal care products, Burt's Bees transitioned from candle-making to creating bath and beauty products and their iconic lip balm. Goes to show never to underestimate an ingredient, rather find more ways to utilize it! Now, their lip balms are their no.1 selling product. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. They now have more offerings and have expanded their lip care line.

Burt's Bees Lip Glosses are definitely the belle of the ball among all their lip colors. It sparkles, comes in several radiant shades and comes in nice sleek shiny packaging.

What I love immediately is the liquid lipstick feel of the product. For a lip gloss, Burt's Bees' isn't sticky at all. Not so typical of some of those natural lip glosses I've tried in the past. What I have here are eons better. It's one of those feel of a balm, shine of a lip gloss and strength of a lip color.

If you're the type who can't leave without a gloss, this is for you. If you dislike sticky gooey gloss, then this is also for you. And if you're going to a natural path like me, then pick these up ASAP.

Take a look at some of my lip swatches of the Burt's Bees Lip Gloss Collection.

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss in Sunny Day
1) Sunny Day is my favorite from the 3 that I have only because I use more subdued lip colors lately. I like the peach tone of the lips and the gold pigments in it. It gives my lips the natural dimension I like without looking to puckered up. On a lazy day that I have to look nice-like going to the grocery-I can just whip this out and swipe.

With a no-makeup makeup look, see how Sunny Day gave my lips the needed shine. :)

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss in  Rosy Dawn

2) For looking and feeling extra sweet, this poppy shade of Rosy Dawn is the best. With Radiant Orchid as this year's color, you can definitely go for this shade. A light mauve gloss with hint of rainbow sparkles. I suggest topping this off on your lip color of similar shade for added shine and hint of pearlized texture. Unfortunately, for darker skin tones, this color might wash you out. Also, try to pair this with a poppy-pink blush to complete the flushed look. :)

Burt's Bees Lip Gloss in  Evening Glow

3) If you want an extra punch on pigmentation, go for the darker hues of Burt's Bees Lip Gloss collection. As they apply oh-so beautifully on the lips. Although it may look darker on the tube, the Evening Glow is the right hint of red I'm looking for if I want to skip the drag of a lipstick. It goes so well with minimal makeup look as well as intense bronze ones. Keeping this in my kikay kit allows me the freedom to look extra prettier for unexpected meetings, visitors and dates. :)

This year is definitely the year of the gloss for me. Blame it on the hormones, the weather or what have you's but I have renewed faith in lip glosses. Especially when brands like Burt's Bees continuously innovate their products to suit our lifestyle.

But for now I'm quite satisfied with these three that I have from Burt's Bees!
