I love doing before and after photos. Not only does it bring out how great a product is and shows that I'm not afraid with how I truly look, it's also liberating. Definitely lessens the expectation for a beauty blogger to be always at her best.

I'm a regular woman, I cry at the sappiest commercials and sometimes, I prefer to go out without my makeup on. Bobbi Brown is right, confidence is everything. I feel secure in my own skin. I don't mind when people see my acne marks or when I have cystic acne. I've already come to accept that it's a part of me, my gene and my monthly hormonal haywire. And I've become comfortable with it. And when you feel good on the outside, the rest automatically follows.

But for days that I need to look presentable, Bobbi Brown's right again on that account, a little makeup certainly wouldn't hurt.

In comes what I think is a genius product from the popular Bobbi Brown Long-Wear collection, the new Long-wear Even Finish Compact Foundation. Same formulation as their Long-wear Even Finish Liquid Foundation but became a lot more handy in a cream formulation.

I've loved cream formulation for quite awhile but nothing seems to have caught my attention save for this brand and this brand that I've tried in the past. It took a while for me to find a nice that meets my needs as makeup enthusiast who suffer from oily skin and acne.

I use a wedge sponge because I'm saving the round sponge that comes with it. So Pinoy of me. LOL!
It's definitely lives up to it's namesake Long-wear Even Finish. First, it properly evens out my skin tone thanks to its medium coverage. Then it stays put for a few hours once I set it with my favorite Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Powder. Oil control is also impressive, even if I think I'm oily, it doesn't seem to be so obvious. Rather it looks as if my face is dewy. And despite the good coverage, I barely felt it on my skin. It's lightweight and it lets my skin breathe. Don't top it off too much with powder or use a heavy coverage powder foundation lest you won't feel how light the cream compact foundation.

I got the Warm Beige as it matches my skin the best. We have to remember that Bobbi Brown's foundation matches a lot of skin tones as it contains a more yellow undertones that many women have. Looking for the perfect shade is an easy feat.

And who wouldn't love the travel-easy compact? That's one of the reason why I love cream-based foundation. No worries with spillage which is a major + for the suddenly-travel-lover like me. :)

Overall, it's Bobbi Brown.. almost anything she comes up with, I love and this foundation is no exception. I'm a big fan of her foundations and that's for a reason, she's an expert on it. If you're looking for that flawless-like-a-makeup-artist-did-your-makeup look, then get this one. I really have no bad thing to say about this. :)

That's it! Next Bobbi Brown review will be about the Long-Wear Gel Liner. :) Watch out for it!

Consider me an almost-geek when it comes to my gadgets. I go for the quality, the quirky scientific stuff before I go for design or color.

Case in point, the new Tech21 D30 Impact Band iPhone 5 case I got for my baby, Favia! Knowing how badly I've treated my previous iPhone, I choose not to take risks and get my baby a better casing. One that has protection but still retain it's slim feature. That is after all one reason why iPhone 5 has become a hit for tech-noobs and tech-savvy peeps.

Did you know that there are over a million units falling off their owner's hands right this very minute? Yup! There's over 1 million klutz like me who at a point of buying their phone, have already dropped them. Que Horror!

That's why I chose to have my phone protected by something really snazzy!

There are just too many things to be angry about. The traffic, the boss you can't seem to please, the continues weight gain or a badly composed email proposal sent to you. Instead of being grateful for the blessings we have, we rant.

It's such a normal thing for us to feel bad about ourselves, to feel as if the world is conspiring against us. The worst is that we even cuddle the insecurity and pain, sing lullabyes to it and treat it like it's the most precious things. Not realizing how ugly it's making us inside.

Given that I do that a lot, the days past has thought me to be more positive. To notice the beautiful things in my life. It's hard. It's not something you can do in a day but like most habit goes, you just need to keep on doing it and it's gunna be easier.

Little things like a new makeup product. Don't you just love opening a new box of lipstick and trying it on? This time, mine was a new mascara from K Palette. It's the 1 Day Lash Perm Volume Curl Mascara, a predecessor of their best-selling 1 Day Lash Perm. This mascara comes in a purple tube.

The Brush: A unique spoon-like brush that helps transfer formula to the lashes that I think helps volumize it. The tip is pointed that reaches the inner and outer corners of the eyes. Since my eyes protrudes, the lashes on those parts tend me be a bit difficult to reach making my lashes uneven when I apply mascara. That's why I go for mascaras with a sharp point to reach it.

The Formula: It has a creamy sticky consistensy that dries immediately. Hence avoiding transfer to the upper portion of the eyes.

The Curl: First off, I love the promise of 1Day lash perm. Not so many mascaras can promise that. Even if you for got to curl your lashes, this mascara can maintain the curl.

The Volume: Base on the photos above, you can see that the mascara have effortlessly provided my lashes enough volume to brighten up my eyes but without the clumpy effect. And making it look natural.

The Staying Power: Good as always. Impressed by K Palette's other products, it didn't surprise me that 1Day Lash Perm Volume Curl lives up to its name to provide lashes the curl and volume for a day (or more!). I've used this for both work and play and it has stood it's ground quite well.

The Removal: It's easy to remove! No panda eyes even if you don't have a proper makeup remover. All you need is a warm water and your gentlest facial cleanser and slowly wash your eyes to remove it.

Overall, I love this mascara. If you're after for volume, curl, length and lasting power and one that still looks natural, I sugesst grabbing this one. There's hardly a room for improvement if you ask me. Well, except that I hope that they include volume curl in the tube for easy preference once I toss the box. :)

Other than that, this is one mascara you should not skip!

You can get the K Palette 1Day Lash Perm Volume Curl Mascara at all  Beauty Bar  nationwide. Trinoma, Rockwell, Greenbelt, Shangri-la, Eastwood, Galleria, Gateway, ATC, Podium, MOA, Midtown, Cebu and, BonifacioHigh Street. Also available online, shop.beautybar.com.ph.

I swear I should review more blushes because I just love them!

Recent discovery are the new Tupperware Brands Colour Collection (former Saralee) Colour Intense Powder Blush. A new addition to the long list of their growing cosmetic collection. Endorsed by Bea Alonzo, I am not surprised why the Colour Collection is expanding.

These collection in particular reminds me of Spring! And though we don't enjoy that weather here, I'm glad that shades like this fits most of us given our fabulous tropical climate. So even if we don't have spring, play up those cheeks with sweet pinks and peaches.

Kuddos to Colour Collection for the major improvement on the packaging. I love the black patent circular container with the clear plastic cover that allows me to see the product. And there's an ample-size mirror at the back! All that's missing is a blush brush. But that I didn't mind since I use a separate blush brush anyway.

Consistensy-wise, I find it a little too powdery. The finish though is good and it blends really well on the skin. Surprisingly, given that powdery consistency have a hard time adhering to the skin.

There are two available color for the new Colour Intense Powder Blush, Rosy Affair and Ooh-la-lush.

Rosy Affair is a dainty cool pink toned blush which I would initially recommend to those with pink undertone or those who are fair but this shade actually works for a lot of skin tone. You just have to know how to wear it. Pair this a smokey eye look to give your cheeks some lovin' and you'll look like Nicki Minaj without the unnecessary costumes.

Ooh-La-Lush is my favorite. A peach shade that blends well on my Pinay skin. Great for everyday wear and for nude-peach lippy. If you love bronzing and looking sharp, this is the best shade to choose. Of course, we all know how our golden skin tone pairs well with a peach-tone blushes.

You can get them from your Tupperware Brands dealer or call them at (02)859-3000

I don't know if it's the age but I like plain nails lately...

But we don't have time to be plain. That much I know. As a woman nearing her thirtieth year, time is ticking way too fast and I'm not about to stand on the sidelines, much more be in subdued shades. At least, I would choose something lively but still age appropriate. Plains will have its time. :)

In comes Nars' latest collection and collaboration with Pierre Hardy, Nail Polish Duos. The collection was said to be an inspiration from it's 2013 Shoe Collection, an array of deigns that are notably so Pierre with the sharp lines and almost futuristic designs.

You'll love this collection. The Nail Duos like shoes of course comes in a pair AND it comes in a box and it's own pouch like a true-blue pair of shoes! Cool, right?

What I have here is the Sharplines Nail Polish Duo, a peach and burgundy nail polish set. Initially I thought they were an unlikely pair but soon later found how they belong together.

Instead of doing the usual every-other-nail application, I thought to play around these two fabulous shades.

One is through the marbling nail art experiment. Check it out here!

Blame my childhood and exposure to a lot of tech gadgets thanks to my male cousins and my dad that I tend to want (and often buy) the latest gadgets. Specifically those that Apple rolls out.

And why not when Steve Jobs clearly revolutionized the way we interact using our pointer finger sliding and pressing the smooth glass screens of their creations.

And can you imagive the progress they’ve had since? From iPod to iPad! Wow! And because Apple is making faster and easier for us to do things online, telcos has to catch up with us!

At work or at play, I want to be online 24/7 365. And that’s exactly what I will be now that Smart just released their brand spanking new SMARTLTE Ipad Plans!

The tough decision comes to choosing if I’ll get the iPad Mini or iPad 4.

Girls says that I should go for iPad Mini. It’s more light and handy (and every bit of an iPad) The boys, however, prods me with the gorgeous retina display and speed! Choosing a foundation is soo much easier! Seriously!

Thank God a fellow iPad crazed friend loaned me her iPad Mini to get the feel of it. It was love that I was hooked! But the experience wasn’t complete til I got to a hold of the SMART LTE Prepaid Sim to try.

And lookee! Fast internet as I travel on the road! Got to watch 2 youtube videos without any lag as the taxi driver battle with the EDSA traffic! That’s connection progress. A far cry from what I enjoyed in my 3G connection.

Here's my "feeling like a tech blogger-mode video. Forgive me, I am a frustrated tech blogger. :)

Now I'm more convenienced to get a a new iPad just so I can be on LTE! Spending most of my days hauled up at work (with no youtube access! Argh!) I need to get my beauty guru fix on an iPad. And since I've had this, I tell you, it’s way faster than our internet in the office. Crazy, right? But that’s LTE for you, baby.

So, C’mon... help me out! iPad Mini or The New iPad?

Happy weekend, ladies! It's Saturday and I'm on my way to Tagaytay at this point.. or probably running late for my niece's birthday party. But either way, weekend is for chilling and relaxing. Time to put those heels away... hand me my flip-flops please!

I'm more content with plain shirt and shorts and a pair of flipflops. Although I do try to dress up once in awhile, I don't always feel so comfortable in them. I always look forward to wearing my slippers the moment I step back into my car or the minute I get home.

But flip-flops has gone a long way since my childhood days. Now it has become a statement, a fashion piece that everyone now makes a reason to wear instead of hiding them from prying eyes. And though we always want the more expensive ones, as Pinoys, we go and look for something a bit similar but nothing that would break the bank. After all, most of us will still reason... "Tsinelas lang yan, hindi kailangang mahal." (It's just slippers. It shouldn't be so expensive.)

That's where Banana Peel came in. Which I first noticed back in 2005. When everyone was clamoring for the more expensive flipflops, They came in to cater to those who want vibrant slippers without breaking the bank. It came in wide array of designs for both men and women, child and adult alike. I remember getting a white and pink design in Robinson's Metroeast in my early 20's.

Now though, Banana Peel has upped it's ante. With endorsers like John Lloyd Cruz and Maja Salvador, their designs have taken a stylish turn. Updated with the trends, Banana Peel has recently launched their Hiccups, Marigold and Status Quo Duo designs that translates today's fashion. From the unabashed neons, to csophisticated sunny shades and bright hues.

Banana Peel certainly has come a long way... leaving behind a lot of Banana Peel tracks. :)

Take a look at some of their new flip-flops designs :)

Hiccups are inspired by the neon fluo trend. What better way to dress up this already too loud shade that with neon colors as well from the new Neon collection from BYS Cosmetics, a neon wayfarer-inspired sunglasses, neon arm candies (GWP from BYS and gift from a brand). Play with your pet with a cute neon chew toy. Most of all, don't forget sunblock. Some extremely effective similar to Heliocare.

I knew immediately how to style Marigold flipflops. It did look so right for partying in Wave Bar at Boracay Regency Resort, don't you think so? Great for evening parties, pair this flip flops with gold accessories from SM Accessories. For your makeup, keep is even and smooth with the new Clinique CC Cream. Make your lips pop amidst the midas touch with Estee Lauder PureColor Fuchsia Fever, contour those sunkissed cheeks with The Body Shop's Baked Bronzer, Keep your hair soft and shiny with L'oreal Mytic Oil.. and if the bling isn't enough, paint on some BYS Glitter For Nails Bling It On!

I think men could benefit from all these brights, too. So for the Status Quo Duo design, I decided to style it with men in mind. If some men are brave enough to wear pink, orange is no different. And so does the neon green wayfarer inspired glasses (GWP from BYS). But that's it! I wouldn't  imagine any man wearing more! But even men needs to hence the Nivea Lip Balm and the Artic Freeze Shave Gel for the cool feel. Men do care how they look and of course the way they smell, my reco is the Zenzest Body Spray in Rush. It has a fresh masculine musky scent that reminds me of active sports like surfing and wakeboarding.

I had fun beauty styling these flip flops. :) After all, we fun loving island people have all the excuse in the world to wear comfy flops all-year round! :)

When Smart invited me to Boracay to "Live All Out" I was scared that it will be about activities and sports. And so I warned Kim and Abbie ala Fat Amy, "Don't put me in for cardio." Besides, it was labor day weekend and I just wanted to have fun under the sun. Can you blame me? :)

But I was so relieved that the invitation was MY version of Live All Out.

Lounging in the beach, playing in the sand, drinking mojitos, pigging out on seafood and steak. But as expected, Smart had tons of activities for all people lucky enough to be there that weekend. Seeing as how people were these doing such daring things, I thought why not do one as well!

Like make sand angels! Bloggers were dared by Smart twitter followers to do some pretty awesome stuff and we all got to participate. At first, I wasn't keen on doing it but after seeing how much fun my fellow bloggers had, I got excited. And so instead of making sand angels... I became a bee!! :) I was so game to win, I flapped my arms like crazy ! So if you were watching the livestream, I'm sure you got to see how much I was making a fool of myself. LOL!

So to whoever tweeted that dare,

Like a kid in a candy store, my jaw dropped when I saw the classic interior of SM Aura Department Store at Bonifacio Global City. You see counters made up gold and depp mahony shades, modern counters and products that have their own devoted spaces and still the familiar looks that we have all come to love.

Consider me a happy girl because despite the fact I love practically all the malls in Manila, SM has it all. Fendi Eau Fraiche is one of those, whom invited me in the press launch of SM Aura Premier and of course, the unveiling of this new fresh scent from this global brand.

But I will talk about the lovely scent of Fendi Eau Fraiche in a separate blog post. Right now, let me show you the brands that I saw inside the new SM Aura Department Store, focuisng of course on beauty and cosmetics. :)

For a week, you'll see Fendi in front of the entrance to celebrate the new scent they have.. a girlier more feminine and light scent, Eau Fraiche.

The return of H2O, the science of marine skincare, which I was told was here in the Philippines in the 90's. Not surprised they didn't last that long considering that 90's wasn't really the best time to launch a products as innovative as this.

Classic brands such as Elizabeth Arden who has launch it's Visible Whitening Line. I love how the packaging  contrasts with the deep chocolate brown counter. It made the products stand out and the luxury seems more apparent.

Germany-based brand, The Makeup Factory si also in SM Department Store. Their main branch in BHS now has a little sister! Better check out their liquid liner and brow mascara. They are amazing.

Mainstay Maybelline Cosmetics will always be present whenever a new beauty department store will arise. And I like the counter at SM Aura a lot more posh. It didn't look too crowded either, something I appreciate a lot.

BYS Cosmetics, an Australian-based cosmetic brand, also made SM Aura it's home. And looking at how nicely positioned their products are, SM made it a priority for it's customers to have better counter-experience.

Za Cosmetics is also back! Seeing as how numerous cosmetics are making it's way back to our counters show that we are indeed more open to enhancing our outer beauty and the brands are taking another chance. I love the new Za packaging and I can't wait to try more products from their line!

This one precisely. Their True White. I've tested it and it seems promising. The light texture and scent got me!

Men gets a chance to look and feel good, too. Products for men are also available in the beauty department of SM Aura Premier. LAB Series is one of them, a range of skin care devoted for our better halves. It's as good as our top of the line skin care!

I spotted Deborah Milano, an Italian-based cosmetic brand. I haven't tried any from their brand so I can't say much about it yet. :)

Like I said there are the familiar ones you'll see and that includes the shiny counter of Shiseido with their brand associates always looking so polished and almost like a flight attendant.

Other brands such as Revlon, Max Factor, Cover Girl,  Etude House, Tony Moly etc. and of course more skincare and scents. :)

Yes, it's another nail polish review. I'm rushing this one just before the ends becasue I gotta tell you that you have to get this now! Especially if you're in to rock the season with a bright coral shade of nails.

T. LeClerc is totally making me love them for the past few collection. There's the pin-up inspired Spring shades of Loved By You Collection and now with their Summer givings!

Goyave is French word for the Guava, the face of the  fruit from which this polish is inspired from. T. LeClerc definitely hit the sweet zesty spot of this polish because it's making me think of cool drinks, bikinis and lounging when I'm wearing this polish.

The wear isn't so bad either once I sealed it with a clear top coat. As you can see it's so bright and shiny that I'm probably making you ooohhh and ahhhhh like I did once I had it on!

Putting polish is always a great excuse to play with colors. If you've been hesitant in trying on bold shades, try them first on your nails. It's a great way to take your neauty experimentation to the next level without having to compromise so much.

If you're into bright-colored, summer-inspired nail polish shades, then better grab this one. You'll love the coral shades that seems to fit so well this season. I sure am glad I did! :)
